The Tate Family Monstrosity (mansion was too cozy of a word for a house that could fit Rhode Island in the foyer) could get surprisingly loud considering the generous square footage to person ratio, but nothing quite made it's presence known throughout even the farthest corners of the house than the presence of his younger sister. 

Despite the morning he had had, Drew actually smiled. Gen was ridiculous and sometimes acted more like how you'd expect a sixteen to act with her phone than an almost-thirty-something, but the facts remained: Drew wouldn't have her any other way.

Drew had been in town -- he could only handle one-on-one time with Mom for so long -- when Gen had arrived, but he could tell that she was there when he stepped into the hall (it wasn't just her music already blaring that tipped him off). 

Drew tapped knocked on her door as a courtesy (not that she would hear) and then pushed his way into her old room. Her back was turned and she was doing something on her phone (surprise, surprise). He got her attention by turning down the volume of her stereo. 

"Can you put that thing away for two seconds and come say hi?" He asked, grinning.

Oh goodness. Charlie is already pretty nervous to meet Gen’s family because wow. The stories he’s heard. But the way Gen talks about Drew, I think Charlie thinks he might be an ally. And then when he actually meets him, Charlie’s probably going to be like “well that’s not at all what I was expecting” and wow. This is going to be hilarious.

And I think they should totally try to swap stories about Gen asp. Because Charlie’s will probably all be completely insane and impersonal and work related and Drew will probs be like “you two don’t ever do anything outside of work?” and then Charlie will try to make something up and wow. Charlie is actual gold at making up stories about his relationship with Gen. Not.

HAHAH, omg!! ONLY WORK STORIES. I feel like Drew is (understandably) pretty distracted right now and I think he's thinking that Charlie is probably the least of his worries, but when he starts hearing that allll he has to say about his time with Gen is at work, he will be SO SUSPICIOUS. LIke, WHAT DO YOU MEAN GEN HAS NEVER DRAGGED YOU TO X CLUB??! wHAT ABOUT YOUR SOCIAL LIFE??!? MY SISTER LIVES FOR HER SOCIAL LIFE and like it's 10000% clear that that hasn't changed and that his sister is not a workaholic and he's gonna be like "what is happening" and possibly even suspect that Charlie is cheating on Gen (his mind goes there a lot, now, haha) b/c like what is this guy doing if he only sees Gen at work?? aND he's probs going to think that his stories that he's making up aren't about Gen at all but his mistress and he's mixing them up and it'll probs become Drew's life mission to prove that Charlie is cheating only to find out that he's just the fake fiancé.

Oh my goodness. Interrogating Lucy will absolutely not go well at all. And it will probably convince Drew that Judd needs to get as far away from Lucy as possible. She is kind of prone to [these] kinds of out bursts. And basically if you start getting too personal with her she’ll be like “AND WHY ARE YOU QUESTIONING ME?! I’M THE THERAPIST HERE. ISN’T THAT MY JOB— oh right you’re not a patient. So that’s a lovely painting.” And I can literally see Drew standing there like “what just happened”

So I think Lucy is going to be pretty on her guard at first because it’s a new environment and wow she’s great in those (O.O) but once she realizes they’re not in the middle east, she’ll probably start to mellow a bit and then she totally could have a pretty good relationship with Andrew? I think of all the Tate children (besides Judd ofc), Drew is probably the one that Lucy can most relate to and probably get on best with.

Hahah, but yeah, I feel like Drew will definitely start to caution his bro about Lucy and wonder how she's a therapist b/c obviously she's a little unbalanced herself and this can't be good that she's offering her bro council as well as dating him ??? 

But I think he will calm down and see that Lucy and Judd are actually really good for each other. It just might take awhile, haha. I think that he will actually find her v amusing (when he realizes she's not completely batshit crazy) and think that she would be a good addition to the Tate family. <33 (they need some help b/c Drew feels like he screwed up pretty bad with his choice of life companion atp)

AH, ME TOO! OK, so while Drew has given off the impression that he’s forgotten about her, he totally hasn’t. He just got caught up with his life away from his hometown and over the years the calls/emails have definitely become less and less frequent and I’m sure they have some kind of dialogue, but it’s nothing like it used to be. That being said, he will definitely be happy to see her for lots of reasons, but I also think that hanging out with her will be a relief and a break from all of the drama that’s going down at his house 24/7 haha.

I’m good! Busy with work & such, but so excited about this rp! :D How about you?? 

Tbh, I’m thinking Phoebe was super disappointed when communication started slowing down. I mean, obviously she doesn’t blame him for it, bc that stuff just happens. But I think a part of her would feel like he’s gone on, moved out of of this small town she’s stuck in and his world is moving on while hers is still stuck in place, you know? Not like he’s purposely leaving her behind, but it’s just the way their lives are going and she’s kinda jealous/somewhat disappointed in herself. I feel like their communication has dwindled down to texting each other inside jokes, or things that remind each other of inside jokes/each other, etc. etc. So cute but, obviously not anything like it used to be. 

There will be SO many things going on in Phoebe’s head now that he’s back! She’ll be SO excited/happy obviously, but at the same time, really nervous/anxious. I think 1) because over the years she’s harbored all of these feelings for him that may or may not go beyond just bestfriendship and now that he’s back she doesn’t know what to do with all of those feelings and 2) because she feels like he’s gone out and lived life and done things while she’s still here… just working at the boutique. Nothing in her life has changed, she hasn’t gone anywhere, and she’s kind of embarrassed.

ALSO, I feel like they’re both kind of like safe harbors for each other from their families. They have such crazy siblings and such that Drew is the only one Phoebe feels like understands her laid back, has-to-think-rationally-because-no-one-else-in-her-family-does, not crazy self. And he’s probably one of the few people who doesn’t think she’s a party pooper/stick in the mud, and she really appreciates that. 

GAH! Sorry that’s a novel, I just have a LOOOOOT of feelings for these two already!

HAHA, that’s actually funny that she feels that way, b/c right now, I think Drew is kinda envious of her life (the grass is always greener, right?). I mean, he definitely wasn’t always, but right now he’s seeing everything he worked hard to get in his life burn and fall away. And he’s basically he doesn’t have anything that isn’t a complicated mess anymore and I think he sees Phoebe’s life as simple, y’know? 

OMG!!! I don’t think he ever really saw her that way, himself. Like, i really do think things could have been different, but as it is, he met Serena in high school and before that probably didn’t even have much of a chance to consider Phoebe. (Although random headcannon that they went to their 8th grade formal together) But UGH her feeling embarrassed and b/c of her life is v painful, especially since there are zero judgements on Drew’s end, haha. 

Anyway, idk if you are planning for Phoebe to tell Drew how she feels over the course of the rp? (Or if you are just gonna wing it), but if Drew ever found out somehow, that would be v confusing for him. And he would have such a hard time sorting out his feelings b/c he doesn’t want to run into Phoebe’s arms b/c of the whole Serena situation (he def cares about her too much to do that to her), plus his life is a mess and he doesn’t want to rush into anything only to lose her as a friend, too. PLUS, he’s eventually going to be told that Serena is pregnant with his kid which is a whole lot more complicated that he obviously needs in his life, ahah. 

I also think that he’s always been able to come to Phoebe with anything. As a kid, I think he had some serious issues with his mom (he still does tbh) and I think he felt it was kinda up to him and Wendy to look out for Judd and Gen and while I think he leaned pretty heavily on Wendy, he’s still the eldest and I think there were some problems he’d never want her to deal with and I think he always felt like he could go to Phoebe with anything. Also, he def never considered her to be a stick in the mud, hah. I think that he always was able to fit in easily with his crazy younger siblings but also sober up and be serious and responsible when he had to be, but I also think that he’s still a nice foil for Phoebe b/c he's a big goofball most of the time.

Camilla is honestly my favorite ;DD 

.... but def not Drew's haha. I think he was like REALLY MARK?!?? THIS FAMILY ISN'T CRAZY ENOUGH YOU HAVE TO GO AND MARRY HER?!?!? >.< 

I also think that Camilla basically has always been the person to go around and undo all of Drew's work, hah. Like, when he was younger and they were all living together, he was def more about getting thigns in the open and figuring out their problems (wanna guess how well that worked??) but as he got older and moved away, I think the holidays just became about surviving and keeping ppl happy and I feel like he's always been about keeping the peace for the weekend or however long, while Camilla just goes and messes all that up, ahha. 

All that being said, I really think he's gonna come to appreciate Camilla a little more this year (not all the time, ofc but still), because he def has a bone to pick with his mom and his wife and his boss and basically a lot of ppl and I think he's def gonna be calling ppl on their shit, too. ANd probs be like "hell yeah camilla" when she goes and starts tearing about the ppl he's angry with, haha.

Okay, so I think that Drew would probs kinda consider Jade to be like a third little sister to him between her being so close w/ Judd and Gen and w/ Drew being so close with Phoebe. 

Also, I dunno how much she's told ppl about her life away from Alaska and why she's back, but I do think that Drew would actually be able to relate to what she's feeling. I mean, it's different circumstances ofc, but I feel like he's feeling like he's life in the city which was once perfect is now nothing and yeah ... he's basically gotta rethink his life a little r/n, because he's looking at getting a new job/moving/getting divorced in the new year and he has to figure out exactly what his next step is, etc. etc.

Okay, so I feel like ~discovering the whole affair thing was pretty recent, especially since she's going to be claiming it's his and so it has to be recent enough that she wouldn't be showing yet -- so I'm think about a month or two?? And yeah, I definitely don't think they've seen each other since. Like he probs took his stuff from their place one afternoon when she wasn't there and has been living on a friend's couch or a hotel or something since and dodges all of her calls and generally avoids her, haha. 

Oh! I was thinking that it might have been Laraine who told her. I don't think that Drew keeps his mom in the loop of what's going on with his life and that she might not even have known that they had separated and maybe even expects Serena to stay with them and so when Mark shows up at the house, Serena is already there and he's like WHAT IS HAPPENING? Thoughts??
