Another sleepless night, filled with so many scary thoughts for Noelle. Sheโs closed and opened so many different games, trying to see which one would distract her.. but nothing did.. She decided to sneak out to the lake for another night, at least the sound of the water always helped to ease her mind. After going to the lake so many times alone, she had gotten used to the dark. It wasnโt as scary as she had thought when she was younger. Although, she still walked quietly and carefully, she couldnโt have anyone see her sneaking out and risk them telling her mother..
Once she was at the lake she noticed someone sitting where she would of usually sat. She gasped and took a step back, freezing like a deer in headlights, not having expected anyone. It took her a moment to realize it was only Kris, letting out a sigh of relief as she managed to calm down. โYouโre always so scared Noelle..โ She thought as she walked over to Kris. She would sit beside them, leaving space between the two of them. Her eyes would glance over at them before looking over at the water.
โHey.. faha..โ She laughed nervously. โSo, I guess you canโt sleep either, Kris..?โ She asked, her voice soft and quiet, almost as if she was still afraid for others to hear her. After all she shouldnโt be out here.. And if her mother knew.. She pulled her knees to her chest and hugged them tightly as she watched the lake.
Noelle kept her knees hugged to her chest, her eyes focused on the ripples of the water. She was silent for a moment, though Krisโs voice had spooked her when they spoke. She didnโt expect them to speak, but she didnโt mind it. Their voice was comforting, though she noticed the strain in their voice.
โOh faha.. I couldnโt sleep, Iโve been thinking too much..โ She glanced at them before returning her soft gaze to the water.
โI have been sneaking out alone a lot recently.. the lake always helps to clear my mind.. I wasnโt expecting to see you here either faha..โ Her voice getting ever so slightly louder but not too loud. She closed her eyes for a moment.. โ..I guess youโre here for the same reason..?โ
*It was less than 24 hours before the party started, and Dess just sat in her room, inspecting the gun she recently bought to defend herself against whatever this "Friend" thing was. She couldn't really sleep the past few nights, so she spent her time writing or smoking outside. Her mother probably would've been pissed had she found out she was smoking again, but when you can't sleep, you have to take the edge off somehow.*
Noelle was in her bedroom, playing Cat Petterz 2 on her computer as she usually did this late at night, being unable to sleep yet another night. Even with Dess being back worry still plagued her mind. Usually, her games would have distracted her.. but tonight was different. Her sister had finally returned, but for how long was she staying..? Noelle shook her head, she shouldnโt be thinking about such things.. Her welcome home party was tomorrow, surely she would stay..
Noelle closed out of her game and turned her computer off. She slowly took her headphones off and stood up from her comfy gaming chair. She quietly opened her bedroom door, holding her breath as she listened to see if her mother was awake. The house was silent. She let out a sigh of relief before quietly walking down the hall to her sisterโs bedroom.
โDess..!โ She whispered quietly but loud enough so that Dess would at least hear her.
Noelle had definitely saw the gun, though she decided to not bring it up. It wasnโt worth bringing up. She knew Dess probably had a good reason for buying it anyways.
โSorry.. I couldnโt sleep and I knew youโd be awake so I thought I could come be with you for a bit..? Just until I get tired enough to fall asleep faha..โ She spoke in a nervous quiet voice.
