I’ve been in fandoms a long ass time, and seen this happen in every single one.

It’s inevitable, yes.

Is it okay to feel sad about it? Yes.

But it shouldn’t change how you feel about them. That’s not the reason why they made you happy in the first place. It’s not why you fell in love with them. They made you laugh when you were sad, made dark days seem lighter and worth getting through. You know they wouldn’t want you sad about it, but happy for them and supporting as you’ve been.

I’m not saying the feeling doesn’t suck, it sucks. But this suckiness shouldn’t make you forget those reasons why you loved that person. And it wouldn’t change a damn thing for you. We love them, we support them, and I believe that feeling is so very mutual.
