You don't know how it happened, but it did and it happened fast, a few months ago.
One minute before you were on the couch with your best friend's aunt and the next you were under her, making out passionately.
After that one encounter it happened more frequently, you and May would wait until Peter was out with his friends or doing superhero shit and when she was finally alone, you would go to her apartment, a few doors away from yours.
It was never your plan to end up like this with the hottest aunt alive, but you admit that you've thought about that a couple of times before⦠or more than that.
But that was probably a normal thing, you've heard a lot of people say not-so-chaste things about her: how bad they wanted to have a one night stand with her, how bad they wanted to see if she was good in bed and other shit that made your blood boil in your veins. However only you could see her for how she really was, what she liked, what she didn't like, the books she enjoys reading. But luck wasn't gentle with you and it was all too complicated to evolve in a serious relationship, you were much younger than her plus it was wrong in respect of your best friend.
In fact you tried to end that sort of relationship that was happening between you and May multiple times, but after a few days of arguing and ignoring each other, you would always come back to her.
But that doesn't mean you didn't feel guilty.
It was a day like the others: Peter was at the Avengers compound and you and May were alone in the living room, having a make out session. You were about to take off the brunette's shirt when you heard Peter unlock the door, making the two of you jump apart.
āHey, May.ā He greeted her and then looked at you with a confused yet happy look. āHi, Y/N. What are you doing here?ā
āOh, hi Pete.ā You said still breathing heavily. āI was waiting for you but it's getting late so I better go.ā You inform before dashing out the apartment.
āWait, I'll walk you to the door.ā May swiftly got up from the couch, following you out of the apartment.
āThat was close.ā She whispered before chuckling a little bit.
āYeah, too close.ā You said in a harsh way, making May frown; she knew what you were thinking.
āWe're not doing anything wrong, Y/N.ā She assured you stroking your arm. āWe talked about this.ā
You looked down at your hands, not knowing what to say. āYou know, Peter is sleeping at Ned's tonight. Maybe you could come over.ā
You saw her biting her lip with a hopeful glint in her eyes and, as much as you'd like to spend the night with the brunette, you knew that you were nothing but a stupid kid in her eyes, she would get bored of you eventually.
Well, you didn't know that but you sensed it. Looking at her you saw a strong, independent woman with her life together (or kinda) and looking at yourself you saw a kid with a lame job and a messy apartment.
And if that wasn't enough she didn't want to tell Peter about you two even though he deserved to know.
āMay, we can't.ā You crossed your arms, hugging yourself. āThis is not gonna happen again. I said it before, I know, but I'm serious this time. We can't keep doing-ā You pointed between you and her. āWhatever you want to call it.ā
She opened her mouth to say something, but as soon as she saw you shaking your head, silently asking her to say nothing, she closed it.
The look she gave you was heartbreaking. She was disappointed, angry, she wanted to scream at you in that moment, but she didn't. It was a waste of time and she has been there too many times before.
āI'll see you around, Y/N.ā And with that she slammed the door right in front of your nose.
It has been weeks since your last fight with May. Nothing changed: you still go to Peter's, you help him make his web fluid and you bring food from the diner you work in for him and his aunt. It would all be as usual if May didn't treat you like you didn't exist.
The only things that come out of her mouth when you're around and when she's forced to talk to you are "please" and "thank you". Nothing more.
Peter noticed, of course he did, but he blamed it on the work, he would never think his best friend refused to keep screwing his aunt.
āSo, you have a date tonight, uh?ā Peter teased you, shaking your shoulder, making you chuckle uncomfortably since May was sitting right in front of you with a book in her hand.
She was so beautiful with her hair tied up in a messy bun and her glasses. The first time you kissed her she looked exactly like she did in that moment.
āSo, how are you feeling? Are you nervous? How do you thing she is? Are you gonna kiss her?ā Peter started to ask a lot of questions at once, you didn't know how this kid could be so talkative.
May didn't take her eyes out of her book, but you knew she was listening. Her body tensed and she was gripping the book a little too hard.
āPeter, I have a headache. Can you please stop?ā May suddenly snapped before heading to her room and closing the door with too much strength.
You and the teenager stared at each other in disbelief. She never acted like that before, at least not in front of you. You knew this was all your fault.
āI'm sorry, Pete. Maybe I should go home and get ready.ā You said before storming out of the apartment.
āWhat just happened?ā He whispered to himself before running his hands on his hair.
The date with the girl, Alicia, was going well. She was funny, smart, the long silence while eating were never embarrassing. She loved physical touch but she never made you uncomfortable. She was sweet while she stroked your hand, there was no malice in what she did.
But there was only a problem: it all felt wrong.
Her laugh didn't warm your heart like the May's did, her touch wasn't as soft as May's when you cuddled in bed, her jokes didn't make you smile like May did.
You didn't see a future with this girl, not even a near future.
And that was when it hit you.
āAre you okay?ā Alicia frowned, noticing you zoned out.
āI- I have to go.ā You got up and left some money on the table. āI'm sorry.ā
You left her there, speechless. Maybe you're a bitch for thinking this but you didn't care, all you cared about was one woman in particular.
After ten minutes or so you get to your building, but instead of heading to your door you head to May's.
come on, you can do this.
You took a deep breath and knocked at the door and after a few seconds May swing the door open, surprised to see you there.
āHiiiā You said jokingly, with a playful yet worried smile on your face.
She shook her head, obviously pissed, and went back to the apartment. She left the door open and you assumed she was silently asking you to come in, so you followed her inside.
āWhat? You don't want to know about my date?ā You joked once again, just to tease her a little bit.
āNo, I don't.ā She said sitting on the couch with her back turned to you. āI don't care.ā
You tilted your head a little bit and crossed your arms with a smirk on your face. āJealous, May?ā
She swiftly got up and looked at you with a dead stare; she was going to kill you for sure. She couldn't believe you had the nerve to tease her like this, not after the mess you made for the millionth time.
āOh, so I'm right.ā Your smirk was bigger than ever now. You knew you were playing with fire but you didn't care at all. You loved when she was jealous.
āCut the bullshit, Y/N.ā She warned you, taking off her glasses.
āI don't care about what happened. I don't care about your new girlfriend.ā She added with a hint of jealousy in her voice.
āJealousy suits you, Parker.ā You chuckled running a hand through your hair. āWell, I'm gonna tell you anyway: the date went bad.ā You explained before biting your lips. āShe's not you.ā
āWhat?ā Her face softened a little bit, but she didn't want to give up that easily like she always does with you.
āShe's not you, May.ā You repeated, a tear was now streaming down your cheek.
Saying those words out loud was the confirmation that you didn't want anyone else but her. You were so stupid for realizing it just now.
āY/N, you have to stop messing with me!ā She raised her voice a little bit, obviously frustrated. Could you blame her? You broke up with her at least five times in the last three months, too insecure to stay but too coward to walk away.
āMayā¦ā You took a deep breath sitting on a chair. āIt took me a while to realize that I've been treating you like shit. I was scared that I was just someone to have sex with and make out when you felt alone. I mean, you're this beautiful, confident woman and I'm still learning how to live life. There's no comparison.ā
She frowned, watching you wipe away some tears. She didn't know you felt like that. āThere's no comparison, you're right, but that's because I don't want one. I don't care if you're not living your dream life yet or if your job is not how you expected it to be. I just wanted you to be mine.ā
Your head immediately snapped to her, āBut Peter-ā
āPeter can deal with it.ā She assured you. āThe reason I haven't told him about us yet is because I didn't know if you wanted me enough to be part of your life.ā
You looked at your hands, feeling guilty for the mess you caused. āI thought you were ashamed of being with me.ā
āNo, Y/N. I wanted you to be sure.ā She said sweetly, a small smile appeared on her face. āI think you are now, are you?ā
You look at her with apologetic eyes. āI belong with you and only you.ā
She smiled and walked towards you placing her hands on your head, stroking your hair. You placed your forehead on her stomach and sighed. āOnly me, Y/N?ā
āOnly you, my girl.ā You confirmed before your hands grip her waist so much you could feel your nails digging into her flesh.
āAre you sure?ā She whispered, now her hands were on your lower back.
You closed your eyes for a second, enjoying her touch. āI'm more than sure.ā
āSo you love me?ā She teased you before placing two fingers under your chin, forcing you to look at her.
You bit your lips and stood up. You rubbed her cheek with your thumb and then your lips meet hers, you started giving her sweet kisses before sweeping your tongue along her bottom lip and then pulling away to look into her eyes.
She placed both of her hands in the back of your head, keeping you as close to her body as possible.
āI love you, May.ā She sighed in relief hearing those words. āOnly you.ā
If you read it all, thank you for the support. She's my comfort character at the moment and I need to express all the love I feel for her. <3
