PROMPT|| I’m Going To Go Back There Someday: Your Character Reminisces On Someplace They’ve Been

It was a dreadful feeling, getting that call in the middle of class. She was English, reading Lord of the Flies when the principal walked in. He had muttered to the teacher before turning towards the class and beckoning Marley to follow him. She followed all the way to his office, his face blank as he handed her his phone. It was like a whooshing noise in her ears, all she heard were the words 'mom' and 'car accident'. The next thing she knew she was landing in Ohio, forgetting to inform anyone where she was going.

The next few hours were dreadful for her, as the police informed her what had happened. It was icy, since it had snowed the day before. But it was raining when her mom went driving to working, causing the driver in the next lane to swerve as his brakes froze up, running straight into her mom, who too swerved to miss him. But instead she was hit, swerving right into a pole. Luckily she wasn't driving fast, so it was only a few broken bones. But it was one of the scariest moments of Marley's life.

Hearing a car door slam jolted her out of her memories. She sighed as stood from her seat at the window, deciding enough was enough. She couldn't dread future unforeseen events that could or could not happen. Instead, she decided to make dinner for when her mom came home.
