Yous aid you needed phantnet ideas, so may I draw your attention to several facts? 1) the wraiths are explicitly a projection of Phantom's will. 2) The wraiths take 3 strands of Hornet's silk. Literally suck it out of her. 3) If you look at a Lace & Phantom thread memory, Phantom is weirdly Hovering in a Tube, while Lace is looking up at Phantom in a tube.

The conclusion I draw from all of this, is that Phantom is starving. Hornet notes their silk has turned gray and brittle from age. Given how much silk in the Citadel is still fine, it would imply Phantom has not had fresh silk in an extremely long time. They are starving. Ravenous hunger for what lurks in Hornet's shell being held back only by the promise of release at the tip of Hornet's needle.

So, imagine for a moment, their final fight. Phantom's swansong. Only... Hornet stays the killing below. She doesn't want to kill Phantom. So she catches their pin, and tears it away. Pinning Phantom down, but refusing them death.

Phantom is furious, and hungry, and Hornet is trying to make a dramatic speech about life being possible & worth living, and Phantom doesn't hear a fucking word of it. They just fucking bite her. Chomp chomp.

It's not really effective, what with being made of brittle silk. Maybe they could tear her cloak. But I think the emotion behind it still gets across.

I remember seeing a post on the hollow knight tag YEARS ago and I remember that it said (joked? Idk) that Hornet was nicknamed the Gendered Child because she transitioned from nb->w and I remember getting so mad because it would be lore inaccurate since she isn't made of void. But I feel bad about hating it because I feel like a bigot. But I'm also fine with her being headcannoned as trans in any other way (w->nb, m->w, w->m, ect.) it's just her being headcannoned as nb->w that makes me mad. I respect people's headcannons and never go out of my way to hate on them. I didn't interact with the op in any way. I just still feel bad about hating that headcannon even tho I haven't seen it since that post

If it helps you feel better, as a kid I had a hard time wrapping my head around the concept of ppl being transgender. The tldr of it was that I'm agender, so I just assumed that gender wasn't real and it was just something ppl went along with for no reason, like grammer or something. So, I couldn't wrap my head around why someone would care so much about changing what ppl called them. I also didn't understand whether the term "trans woman" meant "transitioning to woman" or if it meant "transitioning from woman." I understood that this stuff mattered to the ppl it concerned, but I definitely didn't really know how to discern it.

So, someone online mentions their a trans woman and I want to ask the question. I get nervous about my question coming across as rude. So instead, I ask if her gender is mayonnaise.

Not my brightest moment. I still feel a bit bad about it, but I seriously doubt this woman I only interacted with once or twice online even remembers the encounter. These sorts of minor transgressions are kinda just the types of things you move on from. Also, you technically didnt even do anything. So no harm no foul!

ooowwwgggghhhhh all of the Nailmasters look so warm and nice to cuddle and hug grraahghhhh. I want to caress their faces and let them melt into me. I pat them gently on the head. The Nailsmith is incredibly lucky for getting into a relationship with Sheo.

I feel like Nailsmith's bears is fluffy enough to consume a lesser being. Tho I question the sqweesh of the Nailmasters. And the Knight's arms are too stubby to give them a proper hug. Tho that means they get to be all encompassing with their hugs.

Team Cherry crushing my dreams by Not having Hornet say Shaw a single time. Not even once. She even had a dedicated Taunt button. But no Shaw. Sobbing.

Anyways, after doing NMKG with just King's Pass gear I jokingly said I'd do Radiance next. There are, like, four major obstacles to that idea in my head. Ranked from most to least suspected issue.

1) Radiance has an attack that can only be dodged using either Shade Dash or Desolate Dive. Both of these moves would be banned. So, the best way to deal with the attack would be the jump into the void so that I only take 1 mask of damage instead of 2. But depending on how often I am allowed to heal there's a nonzero chance of me getting RNG screwed.

2) The main reason I was able to do NMKG so consistently was because his attacks are super straight-forward to dodge once you know how to avoid them. There's only a small element of positioning involved in the fight. Radiance does not do this. Her attacks are a lot more open ended. So, there are more ways to avoid her attacks, but how you should avoid each attack will be more contextual. Which means I won't be able to see her prepping one attack and respond by going "ok time to heal" like I can with NMKG.

3) There are multiple phases to Radiance + THK while NMKG really only has one phase. This is important both for learning the fight and the mental pressure. With NMKG, I can approach a 10% HP NMKG with the same mindset as a 90% HP NMKG since I'm functionally fighting the same exact thing and the fight is so long, that I don't need to bother even subconsciously tracking his HP because dying just throws me back into fighting the same guy. I don't risk choking in NMKG's last sliver of health because I'm not tracking his HP even subconsciously. That doesnt work when a boss has a bunch of different phases. It also means I'll have to learn how to approach each phase in its own rights. Like, the "fall into the void" approach to Radiance's beam attack might not be viable on phases 1 & 2 of the fight. And it's not applicable for THK portions.

4) Not related to the fight itself, but White Palace without double jump is going to suck. w/ NMKG it's really easy to just unbind my dash key and not use any spells. But double jump is a lot harder to turn off. So, I'm just going to enter the fight without access to double jump so that I cannot misinput. There's also just a lot of annoying prep work that I need to do that doesn't apply to NMKG. Getting the essence also kinda sucks since that means fighting the boss rematches w/ nail 0. Failed Champion is highkey 1000 times harder than NMKG when you're tying all of your hands behind your back because you don't get soul from hitting them, they jump around like a lunatic, and their damage sources are a lot more random, so it's a lot harder to reach a sustainable fighting state vs them. The dream warriors aren't a problem because their HP is based on nail damage and since I'm only trying to beat THK + Radiance w/ King's Pass stuff, there's nothing stopping me from gunning them down with spells. Queen's Gardens absolutely fucking SUCKS with zero equipment. Enemies take a billion hits to kill, you have to do speed runner strats to even enter the damn place (Isma's Tear requires double jump I'm pretty sure). And Traitor Lord is so goddamn annoying since healing is way more effort than it's worth in that fight.

5) technically speaking, I'm pretty sure the final phase of Radiance is impossible without either double jump or mantis claws. W/ NMKG I decided that the part where I used Mantis Claws a single time to avoid damage doesnt invalidate the fight because, like, it's fucking Mantis Claws. But technically speaking, Mantis Claws will probably be way more of a part of Radiance Phase 3 & 4 than NMKG since those phases aren't done on a flat arena. So, Mantis Claws won't be of negligible use like it was in the NMKG godhome arena. So, technically my plan to address this issue is to use semantics. King's Pass gear (and Mantis Claws). Since I want suffer. And I will not let silly things like the literal inability to finish the fight stop me. Plus it's impossible to reach Radiance w/o getting Mantis Claws. So... can't exactly take the approach I was gonna use for Monarch Wings.

NMKZ and I did a bet on how long it would take for me to beat NMKG with literally just King's Pass equipment. We both agreed "several days." We were both wrong because despite not playing the game for, like, a year, and each attempt being, like, 20 minutes, it only took me an hour to beat him up.

I can't progress in the Pantheons, because every time I get to fight either Nail master Mato, Sheo, or Oro I immediately start smiling. Not even in a romantic way, they're just imprinted in my mind and won't escape.

This is what PK meant by "No Mind to Think." If you can reduce the presence of thoughts in your head, then you can beat up the beautiful bugs.
