CYANOTYPE Another way of producing a cyanotype is with Nik Collection. Using the Program ANALOG EFEX PRO 2 as highlighted in image 2. Here I have played around with different shades and filters which have given me different types of blue shades.
CYANOTYPE Again I have followed the exact same process as last time. The only thing I have changed is the tone of blue. I have changed it to a more royal blue this time and I have also reduced the amount of opacity of the fill down to about 40%. This gives a more subtle tone to my portrait and a more natural fill rather than the harsh striking blue in my first manipulation.
HOW TO MAKE A CYANOTYPE USING PHOTOSHOP Using one if my portraits I have followed the guide I found on google (my previous post.) (Picture 2) Step1. Select your photo, go to edit- adjustments and turn your image into black and white. (Picture3) Step2. Select a new layer. This will help produce the blue tint you will need to create your cyanotype. (Picture 4) Step3. Go to edit then fill. Choosing the colour option click okay and your colour chart will appear. (Picture5) Step4. I have copied the colour code on the step to step guide which is circled in red. I will continue to play around with the blue tones and make a few different manipulations. (Picture6) Step5. Your image will appear blue once selecting your choice of colour. Due to filling it you will need to change it too; Linear Dodge (Add) which is shown in picture 7. Once selected you image will appear as a cyanotype; like my final image.

The Tay Landscape Partnership are offering a £1000 award to a young photographer, aged 16-25, to develop a project involving contemporary images of the landscape and its people through the TayLP projects, details of which can be found at www.taylp.org. The award can be used for travel expenses, photographic equipment and the printing and displaying of the images. The recipient will be required to: • Provide regular progress updates • Complete the work and deliver a report to the TayLP Steering Group by the 31st of October 2017 • Exhibit their work in an appropriate location • Allow the use of their images for the duration of the TayLP project for promotional materials Applicants should complete the application form, on the website below, outlining their project and submit a short portfolio, this should be around 10 examples of their work, a brief synopsis of their reasons for applying, what they hope to achieve and how they plan on spending the award.

Got some amazing news last Tuesday and now that everything has been confirmed I can now say I was accepted to be part of this Project! Exciting new Project to start and soon open my own Exhibition!
INVERSION Looking back on some old images I took of Glasgow’s Catherdral, I knew straight away the images were over exposed; the sky more than the building. So I just decided to see what they looked liked inverted because that is what I do.

STUDIO: GROUP SHOTS
STUDIO: 1/3 FINAL HEAD SHOT I felt that my final image just needed a tiny bit of optimising but not a lot. I Just brightened up her face a little, I felt that the original image was a bit too dull and her eyes didnt stand out as much; her face was all the one tone. As you can see from the top image I have slightly brightened her face and just gave a bit more colour to the models face.
STUDIO: RIM LIGHTING TOP 5 These selection of Rim Lighting images are my top five; now all I need to do is pick my final. The last image is probably the first to be eliminated, I picked it because of the shape and colour and I really felt that it was the most strongest that relates to more ‘common’ rim lighting images. However for my final I want a a more playful and creative image. The second image I liked because of the relaxed and looseness of the model stance. I do like the different shapes the arms makes, however I do wish the top of her head was lite to make one solid line. The third image is debatable. I do really like the arms and the brightness of the highlights in the third image compared to the second. But again I would have liked to have the full head highlighted. Out of the first and fourth image, one of the two will be a final. I like the symmetry in both pieces and the solid line that starts from the tips of her fingers all the way round to the other hand.
STUDIO: HEAD SHOTS Trying to pick a final for one of my Actor Head Shots. I feel as if the first two portraits are capable of being finals but I feel that the shadow at the side of her face especially on the first one, is far too harsh. The last two Images are my top selection. I am torn between the two. Its quite amazing to see how a slight move to the head can change an image completely. Out of all four the last one for me feels the strongest. I like the softness of the model face and the relaxed tilt of the head. It gives the image a real soft feeling, yet her eyes are still strong and looking directly at you.
INVERTED Another one of my personal work that I have played around with. I used photoshop to invert my image. I love the inverted image, it brings so much more texture and just makes the image look completely different. I like how the water looks like thick foam. Totally transform the original image.
