I never suggested that ever…. My point was that we actually have PROOF of something, and there are Christians trying to say that the proof is only speculation, whereas they apparently KNOW God exists when there is no proof as of yet for the existence of God.

Ah, I see. You’re right, I apologize for mischaracterizing your argument.

What you were suggesting, instead, was that the evidence that Christians cite to support their belief in God doesn’t actually support a rational belief in God — hence your comment about the Bible’s alleged lack of credibility.

On that point, then, I think you ought to reconsider after doing a bit more reading up on the subject. If you require some sort of empirical evidence for the existence of God, you may as well give up now.

Again, you are correct about the Big Bang Theory, and I apologize on behalf of my fellow Christians who can’t seem to quite figure out how to science.

Perhaps some Christians are skeptical because things like the Big Bang have been presented as hard proven facts for a while, and so another claim of "well now we're certain" is less than convincing.

There really is no need to reference all those passages about murdering children. The story of Noahs Ark is more than enough to prove that Yaweh was a genocidal warlord not worthy of admiration from anyone.

Assuming that's true, it makes me wonder why, if atheists possess such a slam-dunk argument, they continue to use the poorly-informed ones.

For all the people who love to quote Leviticus 18:22, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination”, let me offer you this quote also from Leviticus 19:28:

"Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.”

The Lord fells the same way about your scripture tattoos as he does about homosexuality; both, the Bible says, are to be punishable by death.

Where is the death sentence mentioned there? No sentence is listed at all for violating that particular statues. You just don't do it.

I'm only posting this because atheists often say things like "The Bible commands that you be put to death for eating shrimp; why don't you actually read it?!" The list of death penalties in the Bible is actually very short. You can still disapprove of the Bible for whatever reason, but don't go around claiming that there's a death sentence for mixing fabrics.

I’m not committed to any answer, and I’m not compelled to be since I’m not depending on that reason alone to oppose bestiality. My issue is that so many notes on this post are saying “they can’t consent!” and no one can give me a reason why other than “you can’t rub your two brain cells together”.

They're religious in nature, so I'm reblogging on my sparsely-posted religion blog. I try not to bring my religious views into an otherwise secular since I don't expect them to mean anything to a non-Christian.

Having sex with animals is an abuse of God's creation, both the animal and your own sexuality. The sin is not the action; it's the fact that if you are doing that sort of thing, you are not in fellowship with God the way that you should be, and that's the real sin. In short, it's not the act itself that's wrong, but it's a sure symptom that you are in a wrong state. This is the case with all other behaviors we call "sin".
