Today a four-year nightmare is over (six to be exact, taking into account the 2016 impeachment coup). The inauguration of the new president-elect marks the end of one of the most difficult periods for the Brazilian people.

I am not innocent or deluded to think that the adversities are over, that the country will improve just like that, but for now I allow myself the happiness of knowing that the genocide that threatened our democracy is no longer president.

There's still a lot of fighting to be done, but today we celebrate a great victory.
