considering how sweet bas has been with taggie so far (in such a gentle and subtle way) it's a bummer that i get the feeling there's going to be a "bas is an asshole" reveal of some kind in part 2. i buy that, like, 50% of rupert being pissed off in the (p2) trailer is based on the sheer amount of jealousy he feels at seeing taggie with another man — but i don't buy that rupert would punch bas in front of everyone like that, based purely on jealousy alone (i know she's the love of his life, but still, bas is his friend). it feels like there has to be something else going on.

maybe it's something like rupert overhearing bas say he just wants to get taggie into bed, or maybe we go full soap opera and have the reveal that bas has been working for tony (I know bas doesn't like him, but they are half brothers, maybe tony has something on him?). i don't know. i just feel like there has to be something else to warrant such an intense reaction from rupert.
