Re: The demise and reincarnation of Reed Releases.
We want to make two things clear to anyone who is still interested in the subject:
1. Facebook terminated RR over winter break for non-compliance with the Facebook terms of service. We did not receive a cease-and-desist letter from the administration, transfer to Sarah Lawrence, or fall into a wormhole. We still walk among you and all that.
After our account was deleted, we decided to hold off on resuming our activities because of the time-consuming duties and frankly unmanageable moral responsibilities that came with maintaining RR. In short, we felt the process of publishing Releases was becoming less and less pleasant. Nevertheless, we discussed a potential return to the Facebook arena at some point in the future.
2. The new Reed Releases account that's sprung up on Facebook has nothing to do with the old one. We repeat, we did not revive Reed Releases on Facebook today. We do not know who the creators of the new site are and strongly wish they would have picked a different name. There's nothing we can do about that now, however, except to make clear that this new 'Reed Releases' account does not represent us. Oh well. Still, good luck to them!
Hopefully this will help to illuminate some of the unresolved mysteries around us.
Have a great Spring semester, you crazy kids!
