Toby "Radiation" Fox gets asked "The Question"

During the Homestuck Rerelease, the observers (old readers) came up with a bunch of joke classpecting quiz questions.

One of these questions was "Would you rather have a million dollars or a dog that doubles in age every second?".

This question became a meme with Andrew and many other server members arguing in chat what would happen if the dog died, turned to oil and eventually exceeded the age of the universe.

There's also Oil Dog merch, both official and unofficial.

The official store is currently down, but here's a picture of some of Curly (a newgen)'s fan merch of the popular dilemma.

During Vibri (the community admin)'s DELTARUNE Ch.1. stream, the admin of this account would dare Andrew to ask Toby about Apple Girlington, which garnered a response from the dog himself.

In the stream thereafter, Vibri would let chat vote on one question to ask Toby. The Oil Dog question won out.

So, what would Toby end up picking? A million dollars or a dog that doubles in age every second?

He picked the dog.

New Homestuck Merch Store

I had the honour of working with the Homestuck people to help design and program their new merch store that'll be releasing soon! (if everything goes right...)

This design was inspired by the pixel-art aesthetics of the old WhatPumpkin store and the more modern UX by storefronts like Fangamer! Massive thanks to both for helping me gather ideas!

What's next for this blog?

The main Homestuck rerelease is over, but I'll be continuing to use this account to document certain funny historical events and things that happen in HSOD relating to the uncs and new readers.

I'll also be browsing the #homestuck new reader tag for cool fanworks from new readers, so make sure to tag it with that if you want me to see it and maybe reblog it!

Homestuck has been freed from VizMedia, its sequel is in full swing and the epilogues are soon to be rereleased on the website for free!

There seems to have been a lot of vitriol between the old fanbase and the Homestuck Team, but thanks to the great work from people like Vibri (new community manager) and the new reader community, we're inching closer to finally having Homestuck as a blooming fandom like it was so long ago.

If you haven't read Homestuck yet, give it a shot. If you haven't read the epilogues yet, hop into the Homestuck Official Discord for the rerelease! There's a lot of bad things that were said about them back then, so we'll be seeing if it was truly Bad or Booning. Either way, I'll be here documenting the new reader experience from the sidelines!

Unicorns: A Homestuck Fanspecies.

Behold, my magnum opus. I spent 3 hours writing this for the new readers of the Homestuck Official Discord while we wait for the post-canon material like Epilogues to get officially re-released.

By writing it, I mean I blacked out and this appeared in my Google Drive, so I'm pretty sure the same primordial juggalo spirit that possessed Andrew Hussie for 8 years got a hold of me.

Years in the future, but not many... a wayward vagabond records a stuttering step in the sun-bleached dust. The quasi-album "Land of Dogs and Oil" showcases my musical contributions as a "newgen" (blind reactor) to the 2025 re-release of Homestuck. I shall publish one of these compositions every day until I run out.

A definitive collection featuring selected fan music from everyone in the newgen community is yet forthcoming.

This first piece is about Wayward Vagabond, the first character newgens on Discord were exposed to beyond the comic, upon a directive that oldgens "not tap the glass" of the newgen enclosure. Theorized names for this mystery stranger included gardenGnostic (the fourth kid), Eden Holmstuck, and Gringle Gok -- a biblical trinity of fanon identities in a constant tug of war.

By the time of ACT 2, the congealed mass of slapdash theorycrafting and inexplicable hornyposting had bestowed upon WV the moniker "Eden 'New Reader' Holmstuck Bec the Radioactive Oilslick Sonic-the-Hedgehog Mummy He/Him Butch Lesbian Catgirl."

While the name's fallen out of favor, to this day I headcanon the Mayor as a he/him lesbian on the grounds that it would be hilarious.
