                   That was an offer that she couldn’t refuse.                                             And the detective knew that.

                          Celestine Talley comes to a stop —— heels ceasing their mechanical clicking, a stray hair coming undone; falling across her face. With a somewhat hurt ego in place, Celestine’s head turns to look over her shoulder. At the detective, once again. Her hands curl into fists. She intakes the sharpest breath.

                                      The journalist had a bad feeling in her gut.                                            But she had never been one for following instincts.

                                    And the detective, for her part, was baiting Celestine —— a transparent attempt, since she knew it. The story of a lifetime. Please. There were stories more sordid than this, but those existed outside the city of Bastille. Outside the lens of her journalist’s vision.

                                            “Story of a lifetime, huh?” She parrots.                                                    ”How the hell can I say no?” 

                                          Let her look around the scene… that was suspicious, since the initial reason this conversation began was because she was barred from it.

                                           ”What if I disturb your fuckin’ evidence?”

        "Oh please.               You know just as well as I do that I only refused you because I had to.                         We never learn anything from these scenes, they're all the same.                                                                      Well, save for the murder weapon.                                                    But I think enough time's passed now to call this off."       She turned away from the journalist, walking back into the scene to make the announcement.         "We've gotten everything we can from this. I'll take care of the cleanup, you can all go back now."          She then busied herself taking care of the equipment they'd brought, while leaving the corpse untouched. She didn't want the crime scene contaminated yet, and it would only be a few minutes before the last of the investigators left. She could fill that time with more trivial things.            It only took the packing, unpacking, examination, and repacking of a DNA sampling kit before the scene had been more or less vacated, and it was only then that she returned to the journalist.             "The scene is all yours." She said with a mock bow, gesturing the woman into the scene.

"Why do you hate yourself?"

         "Hate's a strong word."                   She doesn't hate herself, not as a whole at least. There are aspects she dislikes, despises even, just as there are for everyone. But in the end her view of herself, in terms of hatred or love, levels out to neutral.                   If there's anything strong she feels about herself, it's anger. She's angry that there's so little she can do, that she' so human. She wants a perfect world, one where nothing goes wrong, but how is a simple human to do something like that?                   She wants to be more. To replace the cruel god that lets the chaos and destruction happen without so much as a second thought.                                                          Though, she's never truly believed in God.               No, she doesn't hate herself. But she wishes she were something else.

Just take a look at her badge. It's not hard to tell that she hates criminals, and murderers even more so. She's more proud to be hunting them down than she has been of anything else in her life.

 Emilia has uploaded risque film of herself out of curiosity for how viewers would react to her. The response was not entirely positive, and she's refrained from uploading anything similar since. though the original video can still be found.

웃:three people that are important to my muse

          Emilia is more or less a complete loner. She tends not to even attempt much of a connection before coming on to someone, and when she does that it's always seen as too strong.                                 Most people don't like it when she does that.         She lost contact with most of her school friends when she went off into the world, like every girl dreams to do, and started her path to become a detective. Though she made acquaintances at the academy, she never tried to keep in contact with them.         She gets along well with the people she has to cooperate with on the investigation, and might refer to them as friends, but would never say that they're overly important to her.         Her parents weren't much different. She doesn't avoid them, but makes no effort to talk to them.         It's this disconnection from people that makes her seek commitment so zealously. Much to her chagrin, her attempts have a pattern of ending up as only short affairs.

                     More like Police Detective: Proven  A s s h o l e. 

                                    Not her best headline —— but at least she isn’t the genius behind Bullet Killer, Rose Killer. Whoever had thought those up? Deserved a bullet in the brain and a rose at their grave. There was nothing particularly flashy about them. Nothing that could catch a reader. If anything, they fell particularly  f l a t. 

                                               But who was she to know?                                          Celestine Talley was just a journalist. A bad one.

                                                  Her opinions didn’t matter.

                                    “I think you need your hand held, Detective.” 

                                               But that’s none of her business.

                               Celestine gathers herself up —— and huffs. Like a true diva, the one that she knew she was, she made sure to make her exit both noisy, and disruptive. She didn’t quite get what she needed —— but the bare bones was enough to work a story. She could fill in the blanks however she desired.

                                         That was what being a writer was about.                                               Making shit up as you go.

         "Actually..."            Emilia smiled, putting her hands into her pockets. There was an opportunity here, and a good one at that. She could probably thank the journalist, her needless delaying specifically, for allowing this to come to mind. "You want a good story, right?                And I want to keep the police in relatively good public standing.                 How about I answer your questions, even let you look around the scene                   in return from you keeping me out of the papers.                      If you want I can do it as soon as I send the others home."          If this one was like any of the other media folks Emilia had met, she was sure to be desperate for any information she could get. Seemed a lot of people were looking for jobs in the industry these days.                     Not that there was actually any intention to help, oh no.                     Once the others were gone, there was nothing to stop the detective from beating this journalist into a bloody pulp.                                                    And what fun it would be.               "Or do you just want another run-of-the-mill 'police are, in fact, somewhat corrupt' piece? You know that's been done a thousand times at least.                But this... You'd be the only person, other than us investigators, to see this scene. It could be the story of a lifetime.                                                                                 It's a good deal, don't you think?"
