throughout the entire party, kendren became the other’s shadow. he followed behind them around like a puppy, in fear of having them wander off. while the other would socialize with their friends, he stood off to the side with a soda can in hand, often taking small sips from it as he rocked on his heels. this continued for a while until kendren simply couldn’t stand being at the party any longer. “c-can we please go now? i want to go HOME.” the words come out whiny but he couldn’t help it; being surrounded by crowds of strangers & the strong scent of alcohol was never something kendren was accustomed to. he had seen quite a lot for his first actual party and he didn’t feel the least bit comfortable with everything around him. realizing how much the other was enjoying themselves, he instantly felt guilty for tugging at their sleeve & wanting them to leave with him. “wait— nevermind. i-i’ll just walk home, al-alright?”

it was a peculiar meshing of personalities, holly and kendren’s friendship. but, at the very least, it kept things fresh and interesting and they could push the other to do things outside of their comfort zone; kendren’s appearance at the party being a prime example. upon his anxieties proving too strong and getting holly’s attention, she smiled and ruffled his hair in a joking but soothing manor. “oi, ya’ DAFTY ! how would this part be any fun for me if i knew ya’ were miserable ? tell ya’ w’ot, lem’me jus’ check that nico isn’t paralytic then we’ll go to mine because it’s a bit late for you to be going home unannounced i figure. oh, ooh ooh ! we can make a li’l sleepover out’ta it ! figure you’ll prefer tha’ ?”
