Raquel Pribble (b. 1974)

When Raquel’s Muggle family threw her out after the manifestation of her magic at age 7, she was adopted by famous Ashwinds-based designer Evelyn Pribble and her wife Leonata. Despite her proximity to RPI, Raquel chose to attend Allegiance Academy, excelling in the subjects of Transfiguration and African Sorcery and Magical Traditions. She showed particular talent for magic based in knotwork and anything to do with fibers and weaving.

Raquel took over the family business in 2004, when Evelyn retired. Since then, she has maintained her mother’s high standard of excellence in wizarding fashion, but with a flair all her own. Raquel’s designs reflect the clean lines and crisp silhouettes that were so iconic in Evelyn’s later work, but often integrate brilliant colors, intricate patterns, wrap-styles, and oversized accessories reflecting Raquel’s African heritage. Britain’s Witch Weekly called her recent fashion show in the Sixth Borough, replete with rippling mermaid skirts and lace sleeves, “a sure herald of the trends that will cross the Pond and dominate European fashion in years to come”.

In her bespoke work, Raquel integrates her greatest talents in magic with flawless design. She has continued Evelyn’s tradition of designing unique bridal gowns, and it is said that a wedding dress with Raquel Pribble’s knotwork guarantees a happy and enduring marriage.
