I personally would be interested in your thoughts! ❤️ Personally I thought it was excellent with some minor quibbles, but I’m very curious to hear other POVs! (Did you read the N&C novella beforehand?)

hi!! i haven’t read the novella, but i know what happens in it

imo the movie struggles from lack of time, which results in poor pacing in the beginning. everything feels like it briefly flashes on screen for a minute and then we’re off to the next event, like a box-ticking exercise. after volume 6 was covered, the plot got much more solid and felt like it knew what it was doing more.

then, merging the novella and comic’s conflicts resulted in some weird moments, like the pillow fort scene feeling sort of meaningless — yes it was cute, but because charlie’s monologue about nick was removed, it didn’t really resolve anything or serve a purpose other than bringing an iconic moment to screen (with some people acting veeery immature about it let’s just say)

but like i said, i did love the second half, the acting was great and the story slowed down enough for me to actually enjoy it. maybe we could’ve swapped ONE angst scene to make the first half a little less quick-paced, but overall it was a fun watch, and it did make me cry. i think it wraps up nicely in the end!

upd. also there were too many parties. genuinely why were they always at a party
