Wow. WOW. This is the “response” that Channel Awesome released about everything that’s come to light.

This is not an apology. It is downright insulting and blatantly blames the victims. There’s also nobody’s name attached to it, which makes it clear that they stuck someone with the task so they wouldn’t have to deal with it.

If they had actually tried to just give an honest apology, if they actually admitted they did anything wrong, maybe, MAYBE this would have worked. But since they’ve been spending the last several weeks blocking and unfriending those who have been discussing these matters and deleting posts from people concerned about these issues…it’s very clear that they have not learned from their mistakes.

Normally I don’t mind YMS reviews (when I bother to watch them) but his review for A Quiet Place was almost completely full of whiny bitching and nitpicky bullshit. He complained about things that were clearly explained in the film.

“Why would they sink in the grain silo? It’s grain not quicksand! And if they were going to sink why would they not when the door was on top of them??“

Basic physics of weight distribution. Also people literally drown in grain silos every year it’s a thing.

“Why would the little kid make noise if he knew how dangerous it was!?!“

Because he’s four and kids do stupid things.

“Why did the girl figure out the feedback loop was the key to defeating the monsters when she never actually saw that in action?!?“

Except she fucking did. Like on two different occasions.

“If the monsters could be killed by guns then why didn’t they just shoot them?!?”

BECAUSE THEY WERE FUCKING BULLETPROOF AND COULD ONLY BE KILLED IF THEY WERE MADE TO EXPOSE THEIR WEAKPOINTS WHICH IS WHY THE DAUGHTER HAD TO IRRITATE THEM WITH THE FEEDBACK LOOP FIRST.

I mean holy shit Google is free my man. It would’ve taken zero effort for you to find out how grain silos work or that sometimes nails are hammered in sideways so it’s not crazy that one could be pulled straight up if the staircase was worn down or any of the other bullshit complaints you had.

There were some valid criticisms in there too, like why didn’t they move closer to the river or why didn’t they watch their son more carefully, but they were quickly drowned out by a mountain of garbage complaints that just come off sounding like you were determined to hate the thing from the get go. You’re completely entitled to not like the movie, but don’t make bullshit arguments that make it seem like you never watched it.

This is for record/organization and to help...

Several of the former CA contributors have compiled this Google Doc detailing the many grievances about Doug & Rob Walker, Mike Michaud and other CA management. Channel Awesome has been unprofessional and at some points downright abusive in the treatment of their staff and contributors, and seriously, you all need to read this immediately if you have ever watched their site in any capacity.

Do not watch Channel Awesome. Do not watch the Nostalgia Critic. Do not give them your money, time or attention. The only way they are ever going to acknowledge that they severely messed up is if their ad revenue takes a hit, and I would like nothing more than for this site to crash and burn. Watch the contributors on their personal YouTube websites or other hosts.

Ralph The "Movie" Maker

It's time to talk about one of the worst individuals I've ever had the misfortune of watching on the internet: "Ralph The Movie Maker" or as I affectionately reffer to him: "Ralph The Movie SCUM". All this twat does is complain, complain, bitches and moans about movies he doesn't like and then makes films that are absolutely are horrendous.

His latest film, "Lover" is just the worst piece of independent cinema I've ever seen....and he expects people to PAY FOR THIS GARBAGE. He sits on a throne and boasts how M. Night Shamalan would be a better Director for Man of Steel. If that doesn't tell you what kind of filmmaking opinions he has I don't know what does, thankfully he was crucified online for his comments in the video was removed although some twat reuploaded it.

Honestly his approach to things is nothing more than swearing, complaining, and just overall bad taste. Much like YourMovieSucks, Nostalgia Critic, Red Letter Media, Cinema Sins and other cancerous trash on YouTube, I really hope they are removed from the platform because reviewers and creators like this are creating a toxic breeding ground for AWFUL film review based channels. Channels like this have strarted the trend of "The Nitpick Critic" which under the guise of a review is nothing more than an excuse to talk about a film and ONLY point out flaws while completely ignoring the more compitent aspects of what a film review ACTUALLY IS.

I may seem a little cruel in my assessment but I completely dislike this so called "CREATIVE" and just think he is a complete hack. Whatever you do stay far away from his awful films and his cringe fest of a YouTube channel.
