The Recreational Center was relatively quiet as Ethan prepared to leave it after doing some cardio and weight training. He enjoyed the feeling of becoming stronger, having taken into account his own physical strength due to all the crazy things happening in town. He always appreciated keeping himself in shape, but becoming stronger was certainly having its benefits. Smiling to himself, he headed for the door, holding it open for another person. “After you!” 

Isidora always found herself in the rec center after work. Some people would drink, but she found herself drawn to the gym. She almost had a routine down by now, everyday she would come in about the same time and stay for a while, even if to avoid going back to her apartment. It was easier than dealing with her job atop of recent events and cheaper than drinking. She needed to stay fit, if things were going to stay this way she needed to ensure she was ready for whatever came next. She was surprised to see the man before, usually she seemed to miss the crowd, but she was glad to see someone else there. “Thank you,” she smiled to him as she walked through the door, waiting for him on the other side. Against her nature, she figured a conversation wouldn’t be so bad. “I don’t think I’ve seen you here before. I’m Isidora.”

“it’s… it’s been a rough few weeks. i’m sorry, do you need any help with a flower order? i can put it in right now if you need?” fallon faulted a bit with the pad of paper in his hands, trying to hide how anxious he was. 

“It’s--I get it, don’t think anyone has come back from that. I actually came in to check in, I’m with the police department and I’ve been making rounds to see how people are holding up or if they need anything.” She explained, knowing that was only half of it. “But since I’m here, I’d love a bouquet to take home. Something to brighten things up.”

“You seem a little spooked, you alright?” She didn’t want to intrude, but with how things had been since she arrived, she couldn’t blame anyone for being on edge.

“I look like you could use this,” she offered him the drink, not sure if it was her best approach. She couldn’t stand anymore small talk with a co-worker and he looked like he couldn’t either. “These things are a lot. I don’t think I could get through it without one.”

“Formal?” Hunter shook his head, “no, nothing like this. The town likes to throw events to bring everyone together, that’s a typical thing.” He left out the part about something bad happening in the last year, but he hoped with the new year maybe it would end. Before the fair, things were pretty chill around town. “I’ve been here for a few years with my sister. You’re new?” He asked politely, too busy with Penelope to actually get to know anyone as of late. “My girlfriend is covering the Celebration for the paper, so I figured I’d have a couple of drinks before meeting up with her again.”

“That’s pretty cool, I’ve moved a lot and this is the first time I been to a town that really does community events. They must take pretty good care of their people here.” She couldn’t find shit on the town, she was going off the letter her brother left behind and far as she knew, it was a sanctuary. That seemed to be adding up so far. “Yeah, I moved here about a week ago. My brother moved out here a few months back and I moved to be closer to him.” She only wish it was that easy, his trail ended here so until she got a lead this town would be home. And the best way to learn anything in town was the people. And he seemed like a good kid. “That’s cool, what’s her name? I’ll look for it in the paper.” She offered politely before extending her hand. “I’m Isidora, by the way.”

Hunter shrugged, keeping the drink for himself. He wanted to give Penelope some space while she worked instead of distracting her. “I am yeah. I haven’t been to too many, at least nothing this fancy. But it’s nice seeing everyone dressed up and having a good time.”

Isidora wanted to mingle, get out there and maybe make a friend, but she couldn’t seem to find a good reason to. Being social was easier when she was looking for info for a hunt and not for her own life. “They do this kind of thing a lot around here?” she raised an eyebrow at the question, she’d never heard of such a thing. It was a small town, maybe that was the normal. “Yeah, its good to get dressed up and have some fun.” She looked over to the kid, “Are you new in town too or something? I don’t see a lot of kids hanging back.”

“I’m good, but thanks.” She offered a friendly smile as she declined their offer. She wasn’t much for small talk, but given she was relatively new in town it wasn’t such an awful thing. “So, are you having a good time? I’ve never been one of these things. Its more lively than I expected.”
