I started writing chapter 18 almost immediately after uploading chapter 17 but one thing led to another and my progress slowed :β/ BUT I do have it outlined and about 1/3 of written. Since itβs been so long Iβm in the process going through all my notes and reading the story from the beginning to get back in the right mindset! Sorry I donβt have an exact date for the update yet but maybe Iβll share a little snippet of it once I work on it some more!

My finals were a stressful blur and I think they took a piece of my sanity with them that Iβm still trying to get back. It was such a relief to hit βsubmitβ on the last paper though!!

Currently set up camp in the school library for the next 5-6 hours so I can tackle these assignments! I'm cramming a lot of work today, but tomorrow is my birthday and I want to spend it doing anything but schoolwork.

Everything just moved so fast when I got back from my vacation and Iβve yet to reel myself back in. Iβm super behind on my inbox and even more so on the next chapter. It currently exists as a skeleton of an outline with a few passages written that I keep on writing and rewritingβ¦

Itβs going so well!! I just got back from a two week trip and feel so refreshed :D! It was so much fun and Iβm bummed that itβs over but on the bright side Iβm back to having a fast and reliable internet connection lol. I hope you guys had an amazing holiday season!

also side note but the whole crew thinking that dazai and chuuya are fucking is soooo funny to me bc i know damn well dazai is aware of the rumors and discussions and just chooses not to comment bc he finds it funny but then he ends up catching feelings and whoops he suddenly doesnβt find it as funny anymore

A discovery that will be endlessly entertaining for Ranpo and Yosano. Oh to be a fly on the wall on that ship when the news drops lol)

Ranpo and Poe are the two least skilled fighters but they're just as valuable as any fighter because what they lack in strength they make up in smarts.
Chuuya is ambidextrous with a preference to his left hand.
Chuuyaβs immediate family only involves his father and sister. He has distant relatives in the aristocracy but he's not close to any of them.
Before Chuuya joined, his tasks were divided amongst the crew, so during the period Dazai worked him to the bone, the crew experienced an unexpected amount of leisure time.
The crew gets along most of the time. Whenever a disagreement breaks out, Dazaiβs way of solving it is to make them βfight it out.β
The fact that Chuuya comes out of the captainβs quarters every morning (and the implication of it) has been a popular topic amongst the crew.
The ship sees its liveliest times during mealtimes. Everyone is free to eat wherever but the hull inevitably becomes the loudest, especially during dinner. This is also where Chuuya and the main group spend their mealtimes.
Chuuya washes himself more often than anyone in the crew (a product of his father's upbringing that required him to constantly maintain a clean appearance). He'd bathe more often if preparing the water wasn't such time consuming and arduous work.
The stray dog Chuuya encounters in chapter 15 is a Brittany Spaniel!
As for the next update: the draft is complete! I just have to go through it and fill in the "(then this and this)" directions I left when I got stuck in a scene. It's currently sitting at just over 9k words so it's definitely on the longer side! If I had to give a rough estimate of when it'll be out then maybe in a week? It really all depends on how smoothly finals season goes (which encompasses the next two weeks).
