FOUR OF CANES
The Four of Canes is your invitation to pause, take a deep breath, and celebrate the milestones along your journey. In The Skeleton Tarot Deck, this card is all about reaching a place of stability, a moment where you can look around and appreciate how far you’ve come. It’s a card of community, joy, and the small victories that deserve recognition.
With this card, the drawing tells the story. You see two skeletons dancing beneath an arbor flowing with greenery and build with the four canes, their hands connected. In the background, lights twinkle and partygoers look on, the entire scene set in front of a sturdy castle with a crown atop one tower. This card is a sign that you’ve built something solid—whether it’s a project, a relationship, or a personal achievement. This is the card of setting up camp after a long stretch on the road, gathering with your people to share stories and strengthen bonds. It’s about recognizing the importance of these moments of rest and connection, knowing they’re just as crucial as the big leaps forward.
This card also speaks to the power of community and the joy of coming together with others to celebrate shared achievements. It’s a reminder that our journeys aren’t meant to be solitary, and that the milestones we reach are sweeter when we have others to share them with. The Four of Canes invites you to recognize the support systems that have helped you get where you are and to give thanks for the role they’ve played in your success.
In the context of community and change, the Four of Canes is about building foundations that last. It’s about creating spaces—both literal and metaphorical—where people can come together, celebrate, and strengthen their ties. This card encourages you to think about how you can contribute to creating such spaces in your community, places where collective joy and solidarity can flourish.
WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN THE FOUR OF CANES APPEARS:
Celebration and Rest: Take time to acknowledge your achievements. What can you celebrate right now, and who can you share that joy with?
Stability and Foundation: You’ve reached a point of stability. How can you build on this foundation to support future growth?
Community and Connection: Reflect on the role of community in your journey. How can you strengthen your connections and contribute to the collective well-being?
Shared Joy: Consider how you can create moments of joy and celebration for yourself and others. How can you bring people together to recognize and honor shared achievements?
WHEN THE FOUR OF CANES SHOWS UP IN REVERSE:
Uncelebrated Milestones: Reversed, the Four of Canes may indicate a lack of recognition for your achievements. Are you too focused on the next step to enjoy where you are now?
Instability: You might feel that your foundation isn’t as solid as you’d like. What can you do to create more stability in your life or work?
Isolation: Perhaps you’re going it alone when you could benefit from the support of others. How can you reconnect with your community?
Missed Opportunities for Joy: Are you overlooking the importance of celebrating the small wins? Take a moment to appreciate what you’ve accomplished, even if it’s not the final goal.
The Four of Canes is a card of celebration, community, and the recognition of hard-earned stability. It’s a reminder that no journey is complete without moments of rest and connection, and that the foundations we build are strongest when they’re shared. So take this opportunity to gather your people, celebrate your successes, and strengthen the bonds that make the journey worthwhile.

“In sickness and health…for better or worse…till death do us part” Love is an unpredictable and bewitching little thing. It comes in different forms and colors. Some forms of love are warm - they comfort you, some are so bright - they are blinding. Love cannot be understood, and it tames our hearts, with an unfathomable force. Sometimes being in love feels like a never-ending battle, and other times it’s a safe haven where we seek refuge from the outside world…So saying love is ambiguous is equivalent to saying everything. This piece is the same. It both makes sense and doesn’t. It’s vibrant and distracting and yet you know exactly where to look first. It feels like everything is colliding, chaotic, a mess of things, it feels too much…and yet you just can’t seem to look away. This is what love is. Whether it is for better or worse is up to you. Whether these are tears of unbelievable happiness or tears of an impending tragedy, is for you to decide. To all my lovers, who are warm and happy in their love and those with broken hearts yet to be healed - this piece is my token of love for you.
