Love the abo-verse ideas in TOG where their immortality kind of fucks with their designations. Especially in the sense of the idea that Nicky and Joe can't mark each other.

It drives Joe a little crazy that the bite never stays. Sometimes, the healing is almost instant, and other times, it's painfully slow, part of him hopes it'll stay even though he knows it wont, it hasn't for the last thousand years, he doesnt imagine it'll change any time soon. They've both mostly gotten over it, but they continue to mark each other in the throes of passion. The immortality affects their rut/heat, its insanely inconsistent, and happens rarely, which sometimes they're thankful for.

Their scents aren't affected, both a blessing and a curse in Joe's opinion, because when they die it changes. Something sickeningly sweet and sour, it burns, and its one of the worst things they have the displeasure of remembering.

I know, very cliche here, but I do love Nicky just scenting everyone as a comfort thing. He smells mostly like incense, little reminiscent of a church, with undertones of something salty, it reminds Joe of the sea. Then Joe, the smell reminds Nicky of honey, hints of warm spice like ginger and clove. They're always covered in each other's scent though.

Rising from my Tumblr grave because I'm on such a binge for Joe and Nicky.

I know im probably more fixated on Nicky, and I blame that fixation on Luca in general because i really love how he chooses to portray the characters he plays. Nicky comes off a little quiet and reserved, but he really is full of this gentle kindness and absolute love for his family.

Its such a sweet contrast to how openly and loudly Joe shows his love for the other others, and especially Nicky. Like their hug with Andy encapsulates their personalities so well right from the very beginning for you.
