Sometimes I wonder if I have gifted you every word of love that's in my heart, but every time I do, you make me dig deeper and look more closely. So many layers, so much depth that I have never given to anyone yet. And I think how loving you has made me see myself as never before. How it has made me touch the deepest places in me, the ones I was too afraid to reach, where I hid my pain and my hurt, where only darkness lurked for I had closed the doors. But then you came, and in my desire to give you everything, you made me have the courage to open the doors, and windows again, and let the sunshine in. I filled it with flowers, and when the darkness, and the dust were gone I found so many treasures I thought were lost. If there is one thing I am grateful for is that you never make me feel inadequate. When we are together, I never feel I lack anything, or that I am not enough for you. You look at me like I am some sort of miracle and never once have I felt you desire more. I feel the gratitude you exude because you have my love and are so appreciative of everything I give you. I feel treasured, cherished, and not under constant demand to be something I am not, or give more than I can. For a person who has always felt the weight of unmet expectations on her shoulders you have no idea what a gift it is, the one you bestow on me.
