Honey Hollow's creative world is now open!

because this is a testing phase there currently are only 18 plots + a free-for-all community plot, but i can expand as needed as long as the creative world doesn't put too much extra strain on the server! the plots are 50x50 (technically 51x51 if you build on the plot outline), completely free, and you can trust your friends to build on your plot if you want to! your inventory will change when you switch between the creative world and the main world, so don't panic when your survival items disappear from your inventory! they'll be returned to you once you teleport back to the main world :) i hope you all have fun building mostly whatever (NO PP!!!!) your heart desires!! you can get to the creative world with /warp Creative!

Honey Hollow is coming back!!!!

Hi everyone! In march 2022 I made the decision to shut Honey Hollow down due to starting the process of moving to a new country, which in turn caused me to be jobless. I'm mostly moved now, although still jobless, but recently my friend Boyd offered to pay for the cost of the server because we've both been missing HH and this community. So she's back!! Or she will be back :) When? I don't have a set opening day yet, but I'm hoping to come back before the end of December so we can have a holiday event. This will be a much easier goal to reach because we're keeping our towns, so we won't need to do much rebuilding, but I can't make any promises. Is anything changing? A little bit! We're keeping the most used warps from the server, but the world will be completely new. I've also had to purge some of our plugins due to them being outdated and broken, so if you notice a feature missing that may be the cause (but feel free to ask, I forgot to make a list of plugins when I shut the server down and I can't remember all of the ones we had). Not much else will be different though, and the server is still 100% free to play for everyone with no restrictions on commands, homes, etc! What version will the server be on? 1.20.2, but you can join from any version! You can also still join from bedrock :) Have more questions? We have a FAQ on our tumblr and in our discord! If you'll be joining Honey Hollow for the first time, I recommend joining the discord! I only post big big updates on tumblr, but everything is announced in the discord, and I do polls before making changes to the Minecraft server to make it a more player controlled experience, so you could contribute there too! Thank you to everyone who used to play on the server, to everyone who has stuck around since the shut down, to everyone who talked about how much they miss the server (this motivated me a lot to bring the server back), and to anyone new who wants to come along for this next journey! Farewell Honey Hollow + Some Thoughts

Honey Hollow has officially shut down. I appreciate everyone who has played on the server the past two years, as well as our staff, and most importantly @berry-bunn, because without her Honey Hollow would have never existed. We started this server because we were tired of bad experiences with p2w servers that put money over accessibility and their community. I’m glad we were able to provide this server to players who needed it, even if it was only for two years ♡ 

One thing I would like to leave everyone with, regardless of whether or not you played on Honey Hollow, is that servers are not as expensive as server owners like to claim them to be. Honey Hollow cost $35 a month to run. I started paying for it in 6 months increments so it went down to $28 a month ($170 every six months). We had no website costs because we didn’t have ranks, so there was no point in having our own website when tumblr worked perfectly fine. No custom IP costs because we didn’t find it necessary (custom IPs only cost around $3-$5 btw). Ranks are and will always be a scam from server owners who like to claim running a server costs them hundreds a month. Players should not have to pay for white text so other players (especially players with eyesight problems!!) can actually read what they’re saying, or to set more than one home, or literally anything other than Minecraft itself. That’s all I have to say.

Wondertown Summer Carnival Opens June 11th!

After completing another year of Minecraft school, citizens of Honey Hollow are buzzing with excitement as the Wondertown Summer Carnival is nearing completion on Wondertown Island. All are welcome to come soak up some sun on the beach or try their luck with Wondertown’s carnival games! Food stalls line the docks with delicious treats, so grab a snack while you walk with friends around the island.

The Wondertown Carnival is rumored to have classic carnival rides such as a ferris wheel, carousel, drop tower, and many more! After speaking with Char the Clown, the spokesperson and mascot of Wondertown Carnival, she confirmed that all rides on the island are rideable, with each player able to enter their own minecart. Server Owner Mug has visited the park, albeit blindfolded to preserve the event’s secrecy, and tried out a few rides themself.

“I can’t say for sure since I was blindfolded,” Owner Mug said in a statement to the press, “but I can certainly assure the public that it was very fun.”

In the same statement, Mug informed the audience that the Wondertown Summer Carnival will open on Friday, June 11th at 1pm pst/3pm cst/4pm est/10pm utc+2/7am aest/8am aedt.

Local Honey Hollow Residents Find Alien Life?

There has been a reported crash in a mountainous region in Honey Hollow and many suspect that the object in question did not originate from this earth. When visiting the site, onlookers crowded around the scene to see fire engulfing a large purple orb deep in the earth. Two exploring residents of Honey Hollow were the ones to originally come across the crash and had immediately set up a pwarp titled “???” to signal to others for help.

Ufologists were the first to arrive at the scene shortly after the pwarp was set up. When reporters made an appearance, we quickly interviewed the witnesses to such a strange event.  

“So I’m just exploring around when suddenly I hear some loud noise,” Resident Sloane stated. “and I’m all like, ‘what was that?’”

"We went to go find what caused it and found this,” Resident Clowni chimed in quickly. “and the stuff around the edges seems to be spreading..." Both witnesses looked nervously at the crash site. I noticed as well that the mysterious substance seemed to have spread over a nearby rock pile during the interview.

Other residents of Honey Hollow trickled in over the course of the day, as it was deemed safe enough to view, but the ufologists cautioned against getting close or touching the substance spreading over the rocks.

“We still have yet to put on any protective equipment and enter the crash site,” one ufologist stated. They were starting to sweat profusely. One can only assume that the heat from the mysterious flames is the cause. “I can’t leave. I can’t leave…” the ufologist emphasized, their gaze fixating on the burning scene. “I must know what secrets are here.”

While many visiting onlookers expressed fear concerning the incident, the ufologists have assured the public that they will not leave until their questions are answered. Let us all hope that what they find is something that will make this new year better than the last.

Honey Hollow Event Announcement!

Hello all! We have some exciting news to share with you!

From December 1st to January 9th, we will be hosting a town building competition event. If your town is chosen as the winner, it will become an official warp on the Honey Hollow server and you will receive some server currency as well! Anyone can participate by simply joining our server…

Now for some event rules!

You CANNOT:

Start building your town until December 1st

Tell anyone outside of your building team about your town theme

Have a town theme similar to existing official towns (join our discord and check the #official-towns channel!)

Terraform before the event starts

Build with a resource pack on – Vanilla only please!

You CAN:

Build by yourself or with a team

Collect resources before the event

Write lore before the event

Place signs to claim land (or claim land with our plugin)

We do require your town to have the following:

At least 5 livable houses

At least 2 shops

At least 1 restaurant

At least 1 travel hub of some kind (bus stop, train station, etc.)

At least 1 immersion area related to the town theme

Happy October everyone! Honey Hollow is here again, bringing you an eventful Autumn + Halloween celebration! The event will begin at 9am on Sunday, October 25th, and end at 12am on Saturday, October 31st! The main attractions of the event are:

Honey Hollow is updating to 1.16.1!

Hey tumblr, it’s been a while! I’m here to tell you that Honey Hollow will be updating to 1.16.1 on tuesday, July 7th! No worries though, although the server will be on 1.16.1 you can still join our server from any version 1.8+! I’ve been extensively testing our current plugins on a 1.16.1 test server to make sure everything works, and other than three plugins that our community voted to update without, they’re all working perfectly!
