not to wax poetic about schitt’s creek but god “you make me feel right” is one of my favorite lines ever. the fact that it’s a GAY man talking about love, too. being gay is good it’s normal it can be beautiful and feel RIGHT. you don’t have to feel like your love is wrong or dirty or undeserving and it’s just a really important moment to not only patrick and their relationship but to the lgbt kids and people watching….:’)

Thinking about Steve Harrington and why I really love his redemption arc, and I think one of the big things is that, like… he doesn’t really get anything out of it? He gets his ass kicked in every season. His girlfriend dumps him (after cheating on him, depending on how you interpret everything that went down with Nancy and Jonathan). He went from the being the most popular guy in the school to a loser, a joke. His social circle consists of middle school students. The next girl he falls for turns out to be a lesbian. He couldn’t get into college and is working a shitty minimum wage job in an embarrassing uniform. In his words, he makes three bucks an hour and he has no future.

Like, he’s never rewarded by the narrative for becoming a good person, and he’s never given any Freudian excuses for how much of a dick he was through most of S1. He just realized that he was being shitty and decided to do better. I appreciate that.

it’s fucking crazy to think about the amount of people who have sung bohemian rhapsody? like it’s such a unifying song, by nature of the fact that so many people know it. it holds so many good memories for me and other people. it’s a song you scream in the car with your friends while you drive around your boring hometown, it’s a song you drunkenly sing with your arm around your best friend, or a song you sing along to with strangers when it’s on in public. it’s bittersweet to think about freddie’s legacy carrying on like that through his masterpiece. freddie carries on because he’s a part of so many people’s good memories and bohemian rhapsody is a huge part of that.
