Hello hello everyone! I managed to finish the base model art, basically what I need for the basic rigging on a model not including toggles
For those who are curious about how I cut my models Ill showcase a few details and explanations as to how everything works
The basis to cutting a model is that anything that needs to move needs to be on a separate layer, think of making a paper doll you can't make it move if it's all in one piece
The more cut pieces in certain places the more physics or effects you can achieve, you also have to take into account what you CANT see
Cause if you don't draw what's also behind a piece you have a messed up rig in the future with a lot of errors funny enough this is actually a issue I have with darthsuki's model, you all just never see it because it's not something obvious and something that's behind the scenes but I'll go over that maybe another day
For the hair in particular all the layers on the right are JUST the cut layers for the hair on the right and middle
Same goes for the eyes this is each layer for the eyes
And this is my mouth cutting I do
Now a very obvious question why is a majority of the model symmetrical? Wouldn't it be more pretty to have it asymmetrical and to awnser that question
Yes it could be, but if it's symmetrical if I finish one side such as the eye, I can copy that and everything I did and flip it to the other side and have a fully completed other eye for the same amount of time
That really only works majority of the time if you have the same art or take the time to transfer the art layers to the newly flipped deformers even then that can vary depending on how vastly different the art is
Any toggles you make or outfit changed also have to have their own art, to even effects such as glow, glitter and more its interesting
What's more interesting are inverted mask layers / mask layers
These in particular are blocks of color used to define an edge, I use them actually for making darthsuki's mouth
These layers are inverted from the black fill color bellow then the blocks of color are turned to 0, they still exist mind you but are invisible and you can still move them
This is how darthsuki's model mouth moves art wise without having to manually adjust the black fill over and over and want to cry inside :3
