Thought: I do NOT think that 50% of the world’s billionaires should be women. I think there shouldn’t be any billionaires at all.
So you are saying 0% of the world should be billionaires?
Why shouldn’t their be billionaires? That makes no sense.
Because the existence of billionaires is predicated on the exploitation of human labor and unsustainable environmental harm. That level of wealth hoarding is harmful to economies, as it reduces the amount of money in circulation. No one person, no family, could ever conceivably even SPEND a billion dollars anyway, and it is inherently immoral to accumulate wealth so narrowly while so much of the world lives in abject poverty.
Better then to create a wealth ceiling, a point at which all wealth over a certain point is taxed at or very near 100% to incentivize people to actually spend their money rather than hoard it, stimulating the economy and bettering the lives of far more people. Better even still to create and regulate economic systems that protect workers and the environment in a way that such extreme levels of wealth accumulation aren’t even feasible.
The problem with this is that it reduces the incentive to actually do fiscally well. What’s the point of starting a business if you can’t become wealthy?
There is a very real difference between “reasonably wealthy” and A BILLIONAIRE
No one is saying you shouldn’t have a nice house, we are saying that having multiple really, really ridiculously nice houses while your employees are either homeless or at serious risk of becoming homeless is immoral.
I’ll never understand why this concept is hard for people. I think it’s because they can’t actually fathom how much $1 Billion is.
Seriously.
Let’s say you have a badass job. A great job. You make $100 AN HOUR. You work 10 hours a day ($1000 A DAY), 5 days a week ($5000 a week!!!), every week ($20,000 A MONTH), thats $240,000 Every Year.
It would take you 4,167 years to make a billion dollars.
Keep in mind then, that if you got paid $1000 an hour, 10 hours a day, five days a week, every week, all year, it would still take over 400 years to make a billion.
You want to make one billion in a human lifetime? If you made $10,000 an HOUR, 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, every week, all year, it would take you 41 years to hit a billion.
(And that’s not counting, ya know, money you spend to stay alive on food or rent or anything. )
Jeff Bezos currently has 140 billion dollars.
$10,000 an HOUR while most of us barely making $12. Can y’all conceptualize now?
Will always reblog
Because this is still a difficult set of numbers for some folks to comprehend (legitimately–our brains have a hard time conceptualizing big numbers) a really good example I like to use is the difference between a million and a billion in time.
1 million seconds is approximately 11 days.
1 billion seconds is just shy of 32 years.
Now is this American currency or something else? Because keep in mind that all currency is different depending on which country you originated from. Japanese currency is yen, and 1,086.77 yen sounds like a lot but adds up to like, 10 American dollars, and 0. 13 Australian dollars, which is essentially, nothing.
So when you speak of billions, which currency are you using?
I use the word “dollars” repeatedly, use dollar signs next to all amounts, and am using a well known American billionaire as an example. Would you believe that I’m not talking about Japanese Yen?
No, what I am trying to point out is that currency is different everywhere. I think either you misread or you just don’t understand that a Japanese billionaire ≠ a American billionaire. Or care, for all I know. I was trying to point that out, but clearly I’ve spoken to someone who just doesn’t care. My bad.
A billion yen is still over 9 million USD. Which is still an awful lot and really doesnt undercut my point.
But sure, maybe I should have specified “Billionaires #InUSDincasethatwasntsuperobviousfromcontext”
But more likely, this feels like a nitpicky derailment that doesnt actually address the point I’m making.

Hi Noony! I was just wondering: I see a lot of people saying they want a specific tarot deck but have to save up for it or can't afford it, and it made me curious how much they usually cost. I've mostly only seen decks for $10 or $15 dollars, and I totally understand that for some people that's too much money and am not looking to offend anyone at all (!!!) but it seems like a really prevalent thing so I figure I must just be seeing the more inexpensive ones? What do they usually cost? Thanks (:
hey there ^-^ i don’t think you are offending anyone! this is a legit question. the prices of decks can vary a loooot. yes, there are many which you can get for already $10 or $15 but there are also decks which are rather expensive.
the reason for this could be (i don’t know if this is true) that a single person who might be a regular person who can draw well, or a clairvoyant that already has a reputation, or an artist or designer may dedicates their whole time and spiritual energy in creating one whole deck, like the people i saw funding their personal project with a kickstarer campaign, but also there are like.. decks that are not created like this. i bet some are just randomly thrown together and just didn’t have that much effort.
you see, a tarot deck consists of 78 cards. this means 78 artworks have to be created. after all it is still a product, and the better it turns out (aka the more time you need to create it), the more pricey you need to sell it. the effort to draw 78 cards must be IMMENSE XD
i hope this helps you! :)
It’s usually due to the production cost of indie decks compared to mass produced decks. When the Wild Unknown Tarot first hit the scene it was, I believe, $60 because it was created, illustrated and written (the guidebook) by one person. It was also self published. Now that it’s been picked up by a publishing house you can get it for less than $25 most places.
I don’t think it has anything to do with them being “ randomly thrown together and just didn’t have that much effort.” that line of thinking can discredit the artist and authors of less expensive decks.
The cost of publishing a deck is expensive. The less decks you publish (or if you choose to publish when ordered, as in you publish one deck at a time as orders flow in) the more money each deck cost. When you work with a publisher, they have the means and resources to mass produce your deck at a lower cost, making the price of that deck lower.
Please don’t ever assume that an artist just randomly threw together a deck because it was cheaper than another.
Witch Tip
Tomato leaves can replace any plants from the nightshade family and they smell AMAZING. They have protective properties. Mix them with cinnamon, nutmeg, and some Himalayan salt. Boil all these in water together and spread them at entrances and thresholds to protect your home.

Meditations based on the Major Arcana
If you find yourself stressed or simply desire a different form of meditation, go ahead and pick one, or, better yet, have your tarot tell you which meditation you should do!
0. Fool – meditate to some calming music, find a nice track and let it fill your mind and body
1. Magician – recite a mantra of some sort, word or phrase, pick something meaningful to you, not just what the internet suggests
2. High Priestess – the practice of attending: look at and assess each thought you have as you meditate
3. Empress – focus on self-love, find things you appreciate about yourself, let love fill you and your soul
4. Emperor – count your heartbeats or your breaths
5. Hierophant – take this time to recite a prayer to a higher being, speak a blessing of some sort, or your equivalent
6. Lovers – send love, good vibes, and blessings to a loved one
7. Chariot – focus on each body part separately, flexing and relaxing each part from your toes to your head
8. Strength – stand up and do the sun salutation or a similar yoga exercise, or if you’d rather, go work out
9. Hermit – ask a deep, philosophical question and ponder on it for awhile
10. Wheel – diaphragmatic breathing: breath deeply from the diaphragm, so your stomach moves but your chest does not
11. Justice – find five things or people you are grateful for and meditate on them
12. Hanged Man – the practice of mindfulness: simply let your thoughts pass by as you meditate, not focusing on anything in particular
13. Death – take a short nap! please wake up, though
14. Temperance – the practice of visualization: visualize your dreams about the future
15. Devil – focus on each sense individually, what do you feel, hear, see, if you want you can eat a small treat and focus on what you taste
16. Tower – candle meditation: focus on a flame, image of a flame, or some sort of object
17. Star – take a bath or shower and focus on the water cleansing both your body and mind
18. Moon – acknowledge your worries, then give them up or let them go to a higher being
19. Sun – sit in sunlight or other bright light and focus on the brightness, draining all your negativity away to be replaced with positivity
20. Judgment – focus on the energy within, how it interacts with the earth and others around you
21. World – stand up and take a walk, preferably walk outside through nature
Enjoy and may all be well with each of you <3
