Indefinite Hiatus~
Even though the writer’s block has been gone for a few months now, my muse for this character has still not returned, unfortunately. I’m not saying that I’ll never roleplay Mohinder again, but I can’t promise anything. So for now, this blog will remain on indefinite hiatus. It’s been a fun few years. If anyone who I used to RP with sees this, love ya! 💖
Five times Mohinder and Kat fell asleep together~
1 Kat couldn’t believe how much fun it was to talk to Mohinder about his world. Everything about him and other people was so fascinating and new. But despite her boundless curiosity, she grew sleepy as the evening turned into a warm night on their beach, and the soothing sounds of the ocean lulled both of them to sleep in the early dawn hours. She only woke to the chattering sounds of Mohinder’s teeth clicking together in his own light slumber as the night breeze chilled him. She drug herself up through the sand to reach the car he’d parked up in the sand and pull out a towel that hung through the window. Quietly scooting back to where he lay, she covered him with the towel and curled up beside him in the sand to go back to sleep.
2 She didn’t know where Mohinder was taking her as the pair of them drove along in his car. He’d said it was a surprise. But one thing Kat did know, was that riding in a car for hours on end was extremelyrelaxing. The scenery blurring by and the gentle steady rocking of the vehicle eventually made her so tired that she actually turned sideways in her seat and fell asleep. Even Mohinder had caught the sleepy bug and pulled over at a rest stop to tilt his seat back for a short nap.
3 Kat giggled giddily throughout the evening that she’d been showing Mohinder around her world. He seemed just as curious and excitable to learn about the merpeople as she had been to learn about humans. But swimming for him was obviously draining, and she found a safe cave in a cliff side where the pair of them would be able to safely take shelter and rest for a while. Kat chuckled as she watched Mohinder’s eyes struggle to stay open as they talked about their day, and she sat against the wall of the cave with his head on her lap, letting her fingers comb through his hair while they talked themselves to sleep.
4 Befriending a sea witch had by far been one of the smarted decisions Kat had ever made. And by far, one of the absolute best things to surface from that friendship had been the creation of a shell phone. With it, she was able to hear her dear friend’s voice from anywhere, land or sea. And when she finally had the chance to use it, she talked to Mo for hours on end until they were each falling asleep in their own beds.
5 The only thing Kat didn’t like about visiting Mohinder’s place was how cold it was in the winter, and doubly so when his heater had broken the night she was over. She shivered even under a blanket as she sat on the couch, watching a show with him. And seeing her chilled state, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, tucking her against his side. At the simple gesture, Kat immediately felt her temperature rise, her cheeks coloring as she noticed how soft and warm he was and how sweetly even the scent of him was. She moved just a little closer to him, and slowly set her head to rest on his shoulder, smiling to herself with inexplicable glee when she felthis own head tilt over to rest on hers. They stayed like that all night, content to share the closeness and warmth. And Kat had dreams of longing for them to stay there on that couch together forever.

For a moment, Claire was willing to believe this conversation had gone exceptionally well and would be the end of it. They had raised a smart daughter who had seen and read enough to act wisely; point to them for being successful parents. The little bubble of joy that had welled in her chest at the thought deflated a bit, however, at Sandhya’s question.
Meeting Mohinder’s gaze, she was silent for several heartbeats. There was no good way to tell the girl what they had done, why Claire would never consider herself one of the “good guys” Sandhya so idolized. Blinking, she looked back to their daughter, who was still sitting on the edge of her seat, practically bursting with anticipation.
“Not….quite superheroes, strictly,” she began, offering the tiniest of smiles. “A bit more realistic than that. No uniforms, no Bat Cave, no crazy gadgetry.” She shrugged, hoping a discussion on the safer topic of real heroes versus comic book heroes would be sufficient for the time being. It evaded the core of her question, but Claire was good at that. “But your father certainly did help people.”
Although not an empath, the silence told Mohinder what he feared was going through her mind, and he couldn’t help pulling her closer to him to do what he could to comfort her while she spoke. As his deeds were mentioned, his smile widened and he looked down to Sandhya. “Yes, I’ve helped people, but it appears your mother is being way too modest about herself.”
Giving Claire a look that said trust me, he continued, “Your mother’s power made her stronger, not just physically, but mentally as well. She endured more than I can ever imagine, but as you can see, she’s here with us, safe, sound, and sweet. She survived all those years, keeping her power a secret and under control. If anything, she is an inspiration.” Pausing, he kissed Claire on the cheek.
Sandhya was grinning from ear to ear as she began clapping. “Don’t worry, I’m going to keep my power a secret, just like you, mommy.” Little arms wrapped around Claire, and Mohinder moved a hand to hug Sandhya as well. “Secret and under control, just like mom,” she said softly, confirming what she’d just learned. “And I’ll practice making bad puns, just like you, daddy.”

She returned his hug with an excited fervor for this new and exciting venture he was teaching her. Nodding at his instruction, Kat took the cooking utensil. “You said this one is a spatula, right?” she asked as she used the flat tool to gently squash down the sandwich, eliciting a sizzle as the butter fried the bread a crispy golden brown. Her eyebrows shot up with the sound in surprise, “Is it supposed to hiss like that?”
She gave it a careful flip in the pan, letting the other side soak up the remaining butter in the pan. The smell coming from the hot fresh food was making her stomach growl with anticipation. “Mmm, I can already tell this is going to taste marvelous! Is this something you eat often?”
Although most wouldn’t think it, this was a very special occasion. It wasn’t the grill cheese that was special, but the person making it. Mohinder couldn’t help but keep his eyes glued to her, watching her expressions as the food made noises she’d never heard food make. At her question, he laughed quietly at how cute she was. “Yes, while you’re cooking, you’ll hear all sorts of strange sounds. Eventually you’ll get used to it though.”
Gently he took her hand to help her move the sandwich around the pan to get every drop of butter. “I wouldn’t say I eat it often, but I would if I could. It’s not the healthiest, but the foods that taste the best seldom are… You’ll be fine though.” After it was finished, he held up a plate and helped her scoop it up onto it. “Some people put pickles in it, but I think you should try it straight up first.” Mohinder fanned the golden bread a moment with his hand before nudging it over to her to wait for her reactions.

Mohinder was just about to speak, but all that came out was the quietest breath of a laugh. Eyes cast downward while red cheeks accentuated a big smile. After a second of fidgeting in his seat, he leaned over to press lips to her cheek and whisper, “I like the sound of that.”
Claire gently ran her hand up and down Sandhya’s back as Mohinder began his explanation, as much to sooth herself as her daughter. Her husband had a way with explaining complex ideas in simple terms that she had to admire; Claire herself often lacked the patience to break things down into more manageable bits when they weren’t understood the first time through. Sandhya certainly seemed to benefit from her father’s knack, though she twisted her lips to one side of her face as she thought his words over. Once she lighted on the idea of the appearance of superheroes, however, her face brightened.
Laughing at her question, Claire nodded. “Though I’d miss your lovely long hair,” she said, running her fingers through the end of the girl’s pony tail, “it is your hair. More importantly, we want to be sure you use your power responsibly, like Storm and so many of the other heroes you’ve read about.” She glanced up at Mohinder with a faint smile before looking down at their daughter. “I know you’re smart enough to understand why this is important, but beyond that, we want you to know we’re here for you if you have any questions or get scared.”
Mission accomplished? At least she wasn’t scared or freaking out. Mohinder returned Claire’s smile and wrapped his arms around both of them while they spoke. Sandhya appeared to be taking it all in, nodding while her mom spoke. “Yes, don’t be afraid to speak up. We’ve been there, done that, so…”
At that, the girl paused to look over at Mohinder as though he’d sprouted a third eye, her brows raised high. In a hushed voice she squeaked out, “You and mommy are superheroes?” Well someone had spoken without thinking and put his foot in his mouth. “Ohmygodsohmygods,” she chanted to herself while waiting for them to answer.
Mohinder’s jaw dropped and he glanced up at Claire like a deer in headlights, speechless on how to go about explaining this turn of events.
The Third Date

Even at their third date Chloe found reasons to be nervous, sure they’d been on dates before, she’d technically spent the night with him before, but not together. She’d spent the night after falling asleep while researching with him, it hadn’t actually ever been intentional like it might prove to be tonight, now that their date was already at his place instead of a restaurant or something of the like. So yeah, she felt that she had plenty to be nervous about. She really didn’t want to ruin this.
Finding the right outfit also proved to be a challenge. She didn’t exactly think of herself as a sexy type of girl, and most of her chlothes were vaguely bussinessy. It was a rare moment in which Chloe actually knew what other girls meant by wanting to look attractive, but not like they had tried too hard. Definitely not something Chloe was used to. She eventually settled on some jeans and a bit of a low cut shirt, comfortable enough and a little sexy, she hoped.
She’d finished up just in time to head over to Mohinder’s, and his happy welcome had Chloe feeling a million times more at ease. He seemed as happy (if not more) to see her as she was to see him, which wasn’t something the blonde was accustomed to in her past relationships, feelings unrequited or otherwise. “I’ve missed you too. You have no idea how relaxing it is just seeing you.” Her week had been rather hectic.
Fingers gently combed through her hair a moment as he took in her smile. “Same here,” he commented quietly, shoulders falling as the tension from a moment ago faded away. An awkward pause then a playful smirk, and the next thing she knew, she was off her feet as Mohinder scooped her up into his arms to carry her over to the couch. “I wanted to sweep you off your feet, literally.” Tempted to kiss her again, he resisted. There would be plenty of time for that.
After setting her down, he picked up the nearby tray filled with food and presented it to her as though she was royalty. “I wasn’t sure of your favorites, so I found a fancy catering book and made a little of everything.” And by everything, he meant everything; the tray had to have weighed ten pounds or so. “And on the other tray,” he paused to point, “there are dessert versions.” Mohinder hadn’t meant to go to so much trouble, but once he began making finger food, it kind of just snowballed.
With the tray set in front of them, he got comfortable beside her and handed over the remote. “As you know, this is a sign of trust,” he said with a grin. “I have Netflix and all of that sort of stuff, so please pick out whatever you’d like. As long as I’m beside you, I would watch paint dry.” Okay now he couldn’t resist and leaned over to give her a kiss on the cheek.

It wasn’t until Kat finally saw Mohinder as she reached the surface that she smiled. She swam over and pulled herself up into the beach, leaving only the tips of her fins in the waning tide. “Sorry I’m late,” she said, “Someone was following me, so I had to convince them I was headed out to the coral reef, and had to lose them there before I turned around.” Sitting up in the sand, she curled her tail beside her and listened curiously to him as he explained each item of his ‘mini kitchen’. It had peaked her interest to know that humans did so much to prepare their foods. Whereas most of the merfolk’s diet was completely raw. Sometimes they’d take a net of oysters out to an underwater hot geyser, and let it warm in the almost steaming water. But that was really a rare thing, as it was out of the way, and more often saved as a special delicacy. “What are we going to cook?” she asked brightly, already eager to reach out and get her hands on these human devices. “Will we make cheese?!” Her grin widened even further as she recalled the tasty treats with cheese that he’d brought her to try. They didn’t have such things under the sea.
In all his explaining, Mohinder had forgotten to give her a hug. So as he handed her a skillet, he took a moment to wrap an arm around her, complete with a kiss to her forehead. “I’m glad you were able to make it,” he whispered before clearing his throat to concentrate on the task at hand. “Making cheese isn’t as exciting as it sounds, but we can make something even better - grilled cheese.” He moved the mini kitchen close enough to where she could use the stove before continuing.
“When you cook in a skillet, you want to begin with either butter, olive oil, or vegetable oil depending on what you’re making. With this, we’ll begin with butter.” With a turn of the dial, the stove top began to get warm. In went the butter. “Once that finishes melting, we will put in the bread and cheese. You might be wondering what is so special about this, but the trick is, it is not finished until the whole thing is yellow and completely soaked with butter.” This wasn’t very healthy, but she deserved a treat. After putting in the bread with cheese in the middle, he handed her a spatula. “Press down on it for a bit, then flip it over gently and soak up the rest of the butter.”
She took a few deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth, forcing herself to calm down. Between that and Mohinder’s gently insistent fingers, she could feel her blood pressure dropping for good this time. She was being irrational at the very least, likely even paranoid. Truthfully, Claire knew that her experiences did not have to be her daughter’s; they were different people with different fates. She let out a short sigh and lifted her head to meet her husband’s gaze.
“The concept of a secret identity might actually work,” she said slowly, bringing her hand to her mouth. “She’s read enough of those comics to have a decent understanding of the potential consequences. Not that she needs to live in fear…” Claire shrugged and gave a faint smile before turning to face the hall. “Sandhya,” she called, “could you please come join us?” A faint call of ‘yes’ came down the hallway just a few minutes before Sandhya herself; she skidded to a halt on the kitchen tile. “Yeeeees?” she asked, grinning impishly up at her parents.
A hand lowered to playfully pat his daughter’s head. “Hey, hey–watch the ‘do, dad,” she said with a laugh while tugging on Mohinder’s arm. “Am I in trouble?” She looked to Claire. “Daddy ate the last cookie, I swear.”
With a laugh, Mohinder shook his head. “No, you’re not in trouble. We just need to speak to you about something important.” With that, he picked her up and sat down beside Claire, placing the little one between them. A quick glance to his wife and he began, “As you already know, with great power comes great responsibility.” Tone was serious as he hoped this approach would work. “You have been given a gift, just like Storm.” His fingertip touched her nose. “And like a superhero, you must keep your ability a secret and only use it in emergencies. Only me, your mother, and Peter may know. Do you understand all of this so far?” Breath held, he waited for her reaction.
Eyes huge, she half whispered, “Does this mean I can have a Mohawk just like Storm?”

Carefully Mohinder watched the tide as it came in, back and forth, silent and beautiful. He was frowning though. She was late and he found himself worrying with no good reason to. Sure, he’d given her a watch and her people had seen such devices, but what if their meetings had been found out? What if…
Suddenly there was a splash, causing Mohinder’s face to light up in a grin as he beckoned her over to the little presentation he’d made for her on the beach. “I have a surprise for you. You see, in my world, we have something called a kitchen. Those dishes I prepare for you, I make them in my own kitchen. And today, I’ve brought you a mini version of one.” Arms went out in a Vanna White motion as he described what each part did, eventually ending with, “I’m going to teach you how to cook. Would you like that?”
Claire blinked, momentarily silent. Sandhya had laughed when she’d used her power? The idea was so foreign to her that she couldn’t even process the mental image. “Well that’s good,” she commented absently, letting out a short sigh. “Better that than blood and screaming.” The words had left her before she’d thought about them, but they came with another wave of panic, and she rested her head against Mohinder’s chest again until the feeling passed.
“A sleep over could be good,” she pressed on, forcing her mind back to the present, “but I wonder if that’s enough. I wonder if the school would let her still be involved in after school activities? What if she doesn’t want to be home schooled and ends up resenting us?” A series of possibilities snowballed in Claire’s mind until she was convinced Sandhya would end up hating them until they died. Though she’d heard Mohinder, the words flowed through her without lodging in her thoughts. Shaking her head despite the fact their noses still touched, Claire backed away and sat down heavily at the kitchen table. “That resentment could breed hostility, and who knows what that will look like with her powers….I just want what’s best for her. I can’t force her into anything like my mother did.” Shaking her head once more, she buried her face in her hands and attempted not to dissolve into tears.
Apparently Mohinder was not very good at calming others down or distracting them with thoughts of puppies. Gently his fingers alternated from combing through her hair and massaging along her back as his mind searched for the right things to say, if there were any. The words blood and screaming gave her thoughts away and it cut him like a knife knowing there was nothing he could do to shield her from those memories.
At her questions, he could only shake his head at the thought of their daughter resenting them. She had brought up other concerns that he hadn’t even considered. As she sat down, Mohinder’s mind went to searching for solutions. They could speak with Bennet and even Angela if they had to. His nose wrinkled at that last part as he decided to scratch that idea. “Perhaps we’re doing all this worrying over nothing? What if we bring her in here right now and discuss it? I mean, we could keep her in school but we would have to make her understand–” And then it hit him, and his worried expression began to fade. “We explain it in terms a child would understand. She is like Batgirl, or more specifically Storm, and a superhero never reveals their identity.” Arms crossed as though he was ready to take on the next problem.
The Third Date
Tonight would be their third date - a movie night. Just him and her… together on the couch… in a dimly lit room. The reality of those words suddenly hit Mohinder, causing him to pause and look at himself in the mirror, his toothbrush totally still as the words sank in. How had he not thought of that before now? For good measure, he gave his tongue some brushing as well before moving on to other grooming habits.
Then there was the subject of what to wear. Mohinder tried several different styles and posing in front of the mirror before eventually choosing… what he wore most of the time anyway. Except, he would be wearing his silk black boxers… for reasons.
Instead of cooking, he had little appetizers ready and waiting on the side tables, fully situated just in time for the doorbell to ring. There wasn’t any hiding how crazy he was for her, so as soon as the door was opened, he pulled her to him to place a sweet – yet shy – kiss to her lips. “I’ve missed you.”
“I’m not ignoring you intentionally I just have no motivation to respond the way that I feel you deserve” - a novel by me.

(❤ emotional starter) “It’s you. You’re it. You’re the one I want.” There it was, he'd finally gotten the courage to say it out loud. But this time it wasn't a rehearsal in front of a mirror - this time there were beautiful blue eyes staring back at him. The little bit of alcohol they'd had hadn't hurt anything either. Mohinder swallowed hard before continuing. "You keep me on my toes. It's literally never a dull moment when you're around. I've never felt so alive until I met you... I love you."
mohinder was here to help finish the formula. he was here to help, he was here for the information he had because he was useful. she was here because she was useful, she was here to make her father proud. it wasn’t often that mohinder wasn’t locked up in his lab or on the verge of making some new discovery. in retrospect, it wasn’t often that she wasn’t out and about looking for some other special person and giving them a rather big shock. pun intended. but here they were, a sociopath and a scientist, sharing a conversation over drink. it wasn’t often she’d drink alcohol, much more preferring a slushie. eyebrow raises as he starts speaking and then when he’s done, she can’t help the laughter that bubbles from her lips.
’ that’s a good joke - tell me another one. ’
no one loved her. no one could love her. not what she had done, the people she killed, or the amusement she got from giving people a few shocks.
Her words froze him, but only for a second before he glanced down to his glass and then over to hers, as though it had the words he was looking for. A warm smile formed across his face as he took the bottle and poured them both some more. “I believe I’ve heard that alcohol could possibly make memories foggy. Let’s test that theory, shall we?” With a click of his glass to hers, he took a few more swallows, the gears working overtime in his head.
“Elle, I’ll always be there for you if you need me. And even though you have that extraordinary ability, I will still protect you. And that, I assure you, is no joke.” With a groggy, lazy smile, the tip of his index finger tapped the tip of her nose. “Boop.” He’d wanted to do that all evening.
Just found this and it made me laugh more than it probably should 😅
