((lol, read the men meme wrong. 'Pregnancy' for Amelie and Andre :) ))
My muse telling yours they are pregnant.
There was a time in Amelie’s life when a family was at the top of her list. She’d already accomplished her goal of being a seamstress, running her own boutique, and living her life in the best way she can - so all that was left now was to settle down and have a few children. Allow herself to focus on that instead of her career for once. She longed for some purpose beyond clothing the masses. She felt as though there was something missing in her life, and ever since her nephew had been born, she knew exactly what it was. Being a mother just... seemed right. It seemed like the thing she needed in order to reach her full potential.
This changed, however, after she had met Andre. She loved him dearly, there was no doubt about that, but when she had learned about his past... their past. That’s when she knew that having children was out of the question. The poor man had been through so much, and knowing that eventually she would pass on and leave him there to take care of their children on his own? She couldn’t do that to him. But honestly? She had come to terms with that. As long as she had Andre - and maybe a pet cat or two - she was going to be perfectly happy with her life.
Amelie had been worried for a little while now that the promise she made to herself might have been broken. It took her a while to gather the courage to find out for herself, and when she did? She retreated to her bedroom for a few hours to process. She knew that soon enough Andre would know something was up. It wasn’t often that she left him alone - she was very frequently working on her sewing in the corner of his shop, or in his apartment, wanting to keep close to him.
But now, sitting in front of him, her small hands holding on to his much larger ones, she wished she was still in her bed, hidden under her covers. Was she happy at the thought of being a mother? Of course. But at the same time, she had that nagging thought in the back of her head, knowing that Andre would, eventually, be left to watch over their child alone. It broke her heart.
She took a deep breath and met his gaze, knowing that she just needed to get it over with. The woman had been beating around the bush for a little while now, and she was tired of it. And poor Andre must have been as well. Maybe he’d be excited or happy. Maybe he wouldn’t. She didn’t know, but there was no sense wondering about it now. “What I’m trying to say is that I’m... I’m pregnant, Andre. We’re going to have a baby.”
