alrighty kids

firstly,

I AM SO SORRY FOR MY LONG-ISH RANDOM ABSENCE. Last week of high school ever + senior events (such as prom–I went to three, yes, three proms x_x so you can imagine how exhausted I am and how I had to prepare for them these past two weeks) + difficult muse = reasons.

and with that,

please PLEASE please I hope you have not assumed that I dropped any of my threads or that I don't care about them or I thought you were boring or etc etc insert other silly reasons here because I can assure that's not the case at all. I'm still very interested in continuing all my threads with you lovely people so I still consider them active. If you have, however, dropped them or just don't want to continue since it's been a while (TRUST ME NO HARD FEELINGS I UNDERSTAND IF YOU DO COMPLETELY) then please just drop me a message in my inbox so I know for sure because I'm going to be working on my replies very shortly.

Emma giggled as he lifted her and took her in his arms, happy that he was happy; the woman had feared for a moment that he was unhappy about the situation and fear had pulsed in her heart. She mirrored his fears though, being parents, the two of them had never had any real parents themselves, so how would they do it? But she knew they would manage, that they could be fine, so she let the happiness override the worry.

She nodded. “We’re going to have a baby. The two of us made this little life.” She gazed down at her stomach, taking his hands in hers, placing them on her tummy as she laced their fingers together. She moved his hands up and down her stomach, smiling as she did so, loving the feeling of it. “Our hope for a new life as a family.”

He complied willingly, letting Emma take his hands and hers and move them whichever way she pleased. When she put them on her abdomen however, a thousand nerves shot through August's body. Impulses of happiness; belonging; of things going right coursed through him. He shook his head with a hint of a nervous laugh to agree with her, glancing up at Emma and smiling.

As happy and as scared and as nervous as he was, there was still the matter of returning to Storybrooke to attend to. And suddenly August just wasn't scared for himself and about being a father, but for the baby. How were they supposed to fend off Regina and break the Curse with a baby? And last but certainly not least, an innocent baby that could be hurt in the process or used against them by the powers that be. What if he, what if they, couldn't protect it as their invincible selves in this moment liked to believe? "What are we going to do, Emma?" he asked quietly, attempting to subtlety reference Storybrooke and her–their–destinies.

Emma liked how he agreed, yet his arms were still wrapped securely around her, and if anything Emma didn’t want him to let go. She liked being able to do this, not have to worry about anything other than the fact that she was with him. But of course their little bubble of happiness would only last as long as they didn’t tell Neal about his crazy fiancee. “Of course we can continue this later” she agreed as he let her go, and she followed him to the bike. Once they were settled on the bike, August drove them to the general direction of Granny’s, and Emma felt a twinge of excitement, she had a feeling everyone would be staring but she didn’t care, “Get ready to get stared at for however long we are in there” she laughed quietly.

August's guilty pleasure was in the way Emma had clung to him always on the bike. And although it was a necessity, he liked to think she liked the contact too all the same. Plus, he couldn't help stealing glances at her through his small circular rearview mirror–whenever clear traffic permitted, of course.

He placed a hand at the small of her back outside Granny's, guiding her to the door until he held it open for her. After all he had went through, after all they both went through, others staring was the last thing on his mind. "Well naturally," he teased, "We're quite the good looking couple if I do say so myself."

It was so easy to sit there and let his imagination take over. She couldn’t help but smile wide as his eyes glazed over with the memories, sparkling with wonder at the things he had seen. In a way, Ruby definitely envied him. But at the same time, she wouldn’t trade this time with August for the world. It was special. 

“You worked the tightrope?! What was it like??” she breathed, her own eyes lighting up as she bit her lip in anticipation.

August tried not to stare at the way she bit her lip, the key word here being tried. He would, however, admit to the fact he enjoyed her enthusiasm more than anything, even his delicious food–which said a lot. Ha, as if there ever was or could be a comparison between the two. "Indeed I did," he said, nodding.

His eyes widened as he admitted, "Interesting, but definitely scary." The pressure of it all came surging back to him now. "There I was, night after night, fighting so hard to focus on making sure the acrobats wouldn't fall, or that this wire was tight enough, blah blah blah, when all I wanted to do was watch such a treat," he said, flashing her a devilish grin.
