Drakken, on principle, didn’t want to be seen agreeing with some teenager who had not only interrupted his class and accused him of things, but was not wasting his time, too. But he did. Agree, that is, that dissection was gross. He didn’t like it, never had and knew he never would. It’s why he only liked medical dramas for the drama and spent the rest of it skipping passed the medical parts.
“Look, lads, I understand what you’re trying to do and I can tell that your hearts are in the right place,” Mr. Yamashiro said, taking a few more steps forward until he was standing at a suitable distance for a conversation. “I appreciate it, really, it’s admirable, but just because you two have a problem with dissection doesn’t mean the majority of the student body does.”
It was clear that he was going to shoot the kids down, whether they made good points or not. While he would have revealed in their absolute failure, Drakken also wanted more of a fight and seeing as they had said he was the adult with some power here, he should probably use it.
“So, what you’re saying is, they should organize more,” Drakken said, getting a confused look from Mr. Yamashiro. “You know, see what everyone else feels. People who’ve done it in the past, too, just to see if it helped them or if it was a waste of time.”
.
“That’s not–” Nemo started to protest, but Dr. Drakken talked right over him. Nemo’s gaze jumped to him. He expected to be super annoyed– for Dr. Drakken to have said somethin’ dismissive like okay, thanks for listening, we’ll be marching these two weirdos off to detention now… but he didn’t.
He stood up for them again. Kinda. Because what Nemo was gonna say was that he definitely knew other people didn’t like the dissections. Sure, maybe they disliked them for worse-off reasons not totally tied to frog right violations. But was it so wrong to find that kind of stuff gross? Hurting innocent life for the sake of dumb science was gross!
And so Nemo knew that he could get more people on his side.
Maybe, just maybe, Dr. Drakken could help them do it.
“We can do that,” said Nemo quickly. “I can write a whole petition like the people in town do and get everyone in my year to sign it.”
“No wait just a minute–” started Mr. Yamashiro.
“It’s a great idea! And Dr. Drakken as the new totally official F.R.O.G advisor will help us! Right, JJ?”

Huh. Maybe JJ had been wrong Drakken. Was he trying to help them?
Look, Jack Jack just... really hadn't been expecting a teacher to help them. He hadn't thought they'd get this far, so he'd been on the defensive, but he really thought he'd misjudged Dr. Drakken, actually. He wasn't being sarcastic at all! He was being helpful! Whether it was because he really did, deep down, care about the frogs, or whether it was just because he wanted to mess with Mr. Yamashiro, JJ honestly didn't care, if it was gonna help them.
"Right!" Jack Jack chirped, looking from Nemo to the two teachers with a bright smile. "We'll do all the leg work that needs doing — we'll take, like, what? A week? Maybe two weeks to get the petition together and get the signatures and—" He turned to Nemo now, getting distracted in the planning, "We could even talk to some ex-swynlake secondary people, get their opinions," he turned back to the teachers, now, brightening again, "but then we can having another meeting!" He ignored Mr. Yamashiro's very tired expression, barrelling forward. "And we'll consult Dr. D on the reg, to make sure we're doing everything nice and official."
