The Assassin’s Blade First Read Thread

This will not be a spoiler-free thread -- you’ve been warned. 

Just reached ch. 5. 

Having also read the ACOTAR series, I’m beginning to think Miss Mass has a mask kink. No shame. I’m into it. 

Also, I would read the smuttiest fanfiction about Captain Rolfe, Lord of the Pirates. Unfortunately, I’ve already checked fanfiction.net and could not find any. So, if anyone has any recs... Now that I’m thinking about it, there might not be any fanfic for a reason...  p.s. my vision of Rolfe is much different than the fanart I’ve found and it will not be changed. 

The banter between Sam x Cel... Calen... Fuck sake. Celaena -- the banter between Sam x Celaena is delicious. 

I was really ready to back Celaena up at the beginning when Sam was being an a-hole, but it’s pretty obvious he’s like secretly in love with her, right? You don’t passive-aggressively flirt with someone that hard unless you’re deeply and madly in love. I might be wrong though, and then I’ll be terribly embarrassed when I read this back. 

Right. After reading ch. 5, I’ve decided to retract my comment about reading smutty fanfiction about Rolfe. There are hotter men out there who aren’t slaver-traders, so. That’s all. 

OKAY. Just finished The Assassin and the Pirate Lord. Shouldn’t have taken me that long, but it did. 5 out of 5 pirates. Little adventure, little heroics, little bit of blossoming romance. 

I do want to know what Abor... Aro... Arobynn! I want to know what Arobynn (literally don’t even know how to pronounce that) thinks about their deviation from his plan... But it also kind of feels like he set them up to do what they did, rather than just blindly accept the slaves? Could be wrong though. Hopefully I find out.
