Hello my name is Scarlet. I am a 20 year old werewolf. I was bitten on a july night shortly after my sixteenth while out alone one night. I am a lesbian and have two little were pups. Scarlet laughed, “Well I don’t think you have much to worry about on that front. My rage only comes out with shitty customers or if someone tries hurting my kids.”

Lydia smiled. “Well, it only makes sense. I didn’t know you were a mother but people protect their family. Whether it is by blood or not.”

Chuckling she nodded her agreement, "That's definitely true, i've been very protective of the family I've made for myself at the bar. But yes I have twin 3 year olds, soon to be 4."

“As normal as they can be huh?” She eyed him, “That’s certainly one way to put it. Not sure anything could ever actually be considered normal in your life. Or even my life for that matter. I haven’t been any where near the idea of normal since my 16th birthday.”

Another little shrug. “I mean. Given my past experience? Not much is normal when it comes to me. But then again ‘normal’ is about as relative a term as they come once you think about it.” Because normal to someone else could be entirely bizarre to the next person.

"Good point, relative to the last few years this would be normal. Drunken demons and shape shifters are a typical part of my life but I would never have expected to experience this based on my life growing up."

Lydia placed her hand on her heart, feeling flattered. “Are you sure you aren’t really a wonderful person?” she teased.

Scarlet grinned, "Now I suppose you'll just have to find that out for yourself, now won't you?"

Scarlet thought for a second, “Last time I check I believe my record was 37 in one month. We don’t usually get too many new people in but that month we had a bachelor party come in and they got handset.”

“Oh, that sounds… Well, I am sure that was interesting. Remind me never to get on your bad side. I am pretty sure I wouldn’t make it out alive.”

Scarlet laughed, "Well so far you don't seem like someone who would get on my bad side. But I'll make sure to warn you before you have anything to worry about."

Scarlet nodded, “Yes, Tarrant is my stepdaughter, Alice is my older stepson, and Nate is the youngest of my step kids. Being a step parent is definitely interesting, especially when one of your step children is the son of the Chesire cat and the Mad Hatter is your father in law.” She laughed, “Life has been anything but boring since I was bitten as a sixteen year old.”

  “Sounds like a pretty complex family tree.” He says, rubbing his shoulder with the opposite hand. “I’ve got a few adopted into the family so I think I can sort of feel what you mean. The whole ‘interesting’ part.” He tries to set all this straight in his head. “So you have…two of your own and three from your significant other? Am I right?”

Scarlet nodded, "Yes, I have my twins, and she has a set of twins and a little boy. 5 kids within a year and a half. The whole 'you can't get pregnant while breastfeeding' thing is just a myth, just so you know." She smiled as she thought about her tribe of kids, "I wouldn't trade those kids for the world. As crazy as they drive me they are my life. I can't imagine what my life would be like without them. Being a teen mom was no where near easy but it was worth it."

“I wouldn’t call you a monster but some people scare too easily. That being said I definitely wouldn’t fuck with you. It doesn’t surprise me there’s been ups and downs, it’ll probably take some time for the city to reach a new equilibrium.”

  “I just throw it as a general term.” Some days he liked it better than others. It all depended on context he supposed. And since when has he not been at least a little bit of a hypocrite. He scratches the back of his head. “Other than that…Things have been..as normal as they can be around me I guess.”

Scarlet paused, a little shocked to hear the entire city knew about Stan, “Wow! That’s got to be a big change. I mean it’s one thing for people at the bar to know the truth about me but I can’t imagine telling a whole city the truth. How’s that going so far?”

  “Yeah. It has been. There’s actually been a decline in crime rates. Heh. maybe people are too scared to commit when they know there’s monsters protecting the city.” He says mostly as a joke, though it probably held some truth. “But still there’s been the ups and downs.”

"I wouldn't call you a monster but some people scare too easily. That being said I definitely wouldn't fuck with you. It doesn't surprise me there's been ups and downs, it'll probably take some time for the city to reach a new equilibrium."

Scarlet smiled back, “if you ever come by the bar and stick around long enough you’re sure to see something like that happen. My regulars get a kick out of it. A couple of them have even started a pool to see how many fingers I can break each month.”

“What is your highest total?” she asked. She wasn’t afraid of Scarlet, if anything, maybe Lydia admired that fact that she wasn’t taking shit from any random man in her life.

Her twins are Tarrant, who is named after her grandmother, and Alice, who absolutely hates his name. And then there is her youngest, Nate, who takes after his father, the Chesire cat. The older two are relatively well behaved, but Nate used to be a nightmare to keep track of as a baby, still is some times. The first time we left all the kids with a sitter he started making random body parts disappear. I want to say he was about 10 months old and had just learned to walk. He made his body disappear from the waist down and walked across the room. He also disappeared while sitting in the play pen with my twins and reappeared in the linen closet. We got a hysterical call from the sitter saying she could hear him meowing in the walls and couldn’t figure out how to get him out. I could hear Artemis and Apollo howling in the background.”

   “I may have. But then again I can’t fully recall it. You’ve sure talked a lot about them though. The kids I may have met. If I’m remembering correctly.” He felt almost a bit bad for not being so clear on it. But then again, with his job he meets so many people. Families coming and going with this need or that. He listens to all the different descriptions of the kids. Trying to keep them all on track in his head. “So. Tarrent is the female. And Alice is the male?” Had he got that right? And he didn’t even want to know how the Chesire cat came into play. But wasn’t one to judge. He just didn’t like cats to begin with. “Well shit. And I thought I had a full house. We didn’t even consider babysitters once Karnus came into play. His uncle had some trouble with him. But. Well things got straightened out.” Thank the Forces. But he wasn’t about to go into detail of all his children unpromted. Things got a bit complicated when talking about them.

I can’t count how many drunken idiots have wandered into my bar for the first time and thought just because I’m a young woman they could touch me or talk down to me. Only takes a few seconds for them to realize their mistake.” She grinned, “Broken bones are a great reminder that young doesn’t mean powerless.”

Lydia didn’t monitor her laugh, it came out genuine and loud. “Oh how I wish I could have bee there to see the look on their faces,” she said with a smile.

Stan chuckles, it sounding more like a laugh now. “Well. How would I know. If I get drunk enough to actually conk out I wouldn’t be surprised.” He rubs the back of his head. “But no. It’s a different sort of busy. See. I sort of came out of the shadows. The people of Inner City know what I really am now.”

Scarlet laughed, “Thank god I don’t have to worry about that. There is always someone at the house willing to watch the kids if I need to do something with out them. One of the perks of living in a house filled with angels, demons, and other supernatural creatures is that no one expects my children to behave like human children. Though I must admit the first time there was good stories after the first time they agreed to watch Wonder’s kids so we could go on a date night. Cord still gives me a hard time about scaring his daughter.”

  “Good. That’s good.” Stan didn’t have as many supporters as he did now back then. But. The kids still came out alright. As alright as they could have been he supposed. A small shake to his head to get him out of his thoughts. Stan looks back to Scarlet. There’s a smirk and a chuckle. “Oh. Well that sounds like the set up to a story I’ve just got to hear. You’ve got time for it? I don’t want to keep you if you have things to attend to though.”

“The bar is doing great. Business is booming and we just started stocking an even stronger moonshine for our shapeshifter clientele. It would take a lot more than just you to drink us dry. Besides you’re a good tipper and never cause any trouble. The jukebox even drowns out your alcohol induced snores,” she teased.

  “You know. To me that’s sounding like a challenge.” He chuckles before putting on an offended expression. “I do not snore.” He did. Only when drunk. And as a bartender, Scarlet has most definitely seen and heard Stan in that state. “Well. It’s a pretty great place you’ve got there. Thing’s have just gotten rather busy around here. I don’t get out much anymore.”
