HORNETVERSARY FAQ
As we approach ever closer to June 20th, I thought I’d make a post answering some questions about the stream that I always get so everyone can know what to expect!
1. “What is Hornetversary?”
Every year on June 20th, the anniversary of Marble Hornets both beginning and ending, I host a livestream where the fandom watches all 9+ hours of Marble Hornets with fanart showcases and live QNAs from the creators and crew that usually devolve into a drunken mess by the last panel. There are always bonuses and surprises, so the stream tends to run PRETTY LONG.
What started as just watching the show all the way through with no bells and whistles has grown into. What it is now. But now it’s also for charity! Transgender charity, to be precise. We have partnered with Slender4Gender twice now, helping to raise over 21,000 so far across the 2023 and 2025 campaigns. More details about the 2026 charity drive will be announced soon!
Oh and “Hornetversary” was a term dubbed by me and a few Twitch chatters the one year (but I couldn’t tell you which, they all tend to run together after the 12 hour mark)
2. “How do I watch?”
The stream will begin properly at 9:00AM (EST) with a short preshow playing before it on June 20th at https://twitch.tv/kylecwall.
You don’t need a Twitch account to watch, but if you want to donate to the charity or talk in chat an account is required.
2A. “What if I’m busy that day?”
For the last few years, the QNAs are recorded in high quality separate from the stream and posted to YouTube within a week or so after some minor editing by myself. The downside to getting shitfaced on camera is that it makes it hard to ask and answer questions cohesively.
If you want to relive the entire stream experience, Twitch VODs are always available for 14 days after the initial stream date. I do not record the entire stream myself, cuz those mfers get LONG and my hard drives can only take so much. Some people have taken it upon themselves to archive the entire stream to YouTube, but I wouldn’t count on that as a certainty.
I’ll be sure to share the VOD link here while it is still available.
3. “Where can I submit questions for the QNAs?”
Here is the link to the 2026 QNA Google Form!! Make sure you are submitting them through here and not any forms from prior years. We can barely parse all the questions submitted on one form alone!
(separate url for copy and pasting purposes: https://bit.ly/mhqna26)
Submit questions to be asked to the cast and crew of Marble Hornets!!!!!! Tune in to the stream June 20th, 9AM EST to see these questions ge
4. “How do I get my fanart featured?”
Just use the #Hornetversary tag on tumblr, twitter, or bluesky as we will be scrolling through them several times throughout the stream!
4A. “What’s the art theme this year?”
The annual fanart theme is decided on literally moments before we go live, the council of QNA guests confers and decides on the spot so that everyone is given the same amount of time to make a bespoke piece for that year’s stream theme. Prior years included “Bugs”, “Garfield”, and “Sonic The Hedgehog” to give you an idea of how wide the themes can range.
5. “How do I spread the word?”
Tell your friends! If this is their first time watching Marble Hornets I’d maybe have them avoid the stream, as most years there is a silly soundboard and various inside-joke-memes put on screen that could spoil some plot elements. The whole idea of Hornetversary has become celebrating Marble Hornets with the fandom as a whole, so it probably doesn’t make for a solid first impression of a horror series lol.
That being said; the past few years I’ve started posting clips from previous QNAs and making little teasers to try and get as many Marble Hornets fans on board as possible. Nothing feels as awesome as seeing a comment on a QNA clip TikTok that says something along the lines of “woah I used to watch this show all the time, ill have to tune in to the stream”. So spread the teasers and clips around! Let’s cast a wide net!! Let’s raise a LOT of transgender money!!!!
6. “What’s the lineup for QNA panels this year?”
Wouldn’t you like to know.
