Blood soaked the shirt clinging to a body that didn't belong to them. Deep within, they could feel Brynn shaking and knew if they pulled back and let the woman take over, a scream full of pain would ring out. That wasn't the case for them though. The wound at Brynn's side didn't bother them, nor did the split lip that left the taste of metal on the tip of the woman's tongue.
In fact, it felt like any other day when the other angel was around.
A heavy groan could be heard nearby as they fell to the floor. The noise sounded more animalistic than anything else, but it always seemed to be a noise that came with blood and pain, and it never ended there. More pain was sure to follow, though the other was as predictable as ever. A gasp came from them at the feel of a rough hand gripping at the back of Brynn's neck. She felt it as well and the angel could feel the woman shaking within that much more.
โIs it time? Are you finally going to kill me?โ Brynn's voice slipped out, though it sounded more harsh when the angel always had a rougher touch to them. The hand gripping the back of Brynn's neck squeezed a little tighter until the angel was pulled back enough to see a face that was as unfamiliar as it was familiar. โYou can't do it yet, can you?โ
Hayden's voice had slipped out and it sounded nearly the same, but it held some wicked and sinister. Looking up at those eyes had Brynn practically ready to cry out, even if she knew it wasn't Hayden doing this. Then again, they both had to wonder if he would at this point. If given the chance, would the situation really be any different if it was Hayden and Brynn rather than the two angels?
โYou couldn't do it even if you wanted to.โ The angel spoke clearly, feeling the grip tighten a little more as if to warn them. It was always a warning that was easily pushed aside the same as it was done now. โHe won't let you. Are you surprised by how much control he still has over himself? She surprises me every single day.โ
โI said, don't tempt me.โ
That warning was a bit more amplified now with the harsh tone. If they didn't know any better, the other's eyes managed to darken a little and even that could have scared anyone to death. As if to add to it, the two of them were pulled closer together until they felt the other's breath on their lipsโon Brynn's lips and that had the human shivering under her own skin. The closeness was that much more of a warning and even they knew it wouldn't take much for it to all finally end, but they also knew that wouldn't happen yet.
โEven if it wasn't for him,โ they spoke in a hushed tone, a little softer this time, โyou still couldn't kill me.โ
