This is the Capuchin Crypt in Rome, Italy. It was honestly one of the most amazing things I have seen. It’s a small underground chamber with about 4-5 displays such as this. According to the employee at the front desk, the ground was believed to be holy and many people paid a hefty sum of money to be buried in this crypt.

The skeletons were so well-kept and the strange thing about this crypt was that normally, you’d feel entirely creeped out walking past rows and rows of skeletons but strangely, the ambiance down there was so calming and I felt strangely at ease. The gospel music playing in the background only added to the serenity (I know all of this sounds very strange).

If you’re into macabre stuff and you’re traveling Europe, definitely check this crypt out! I dragged my friend under the scorching sun and waited 4 hours just to visit it.
