velma was slumped onto the couch. the comfortable pillows was all but holding her hostage. she looked over at jackie with a smile and than after a moment slid a gift over. it was wrapped in plain brown paper, simple, but clean all the same. beneath the paper in the box was a leather bound notebook. “ i saw this and thought you might like it. ” she pushed up her glasses. “ you can open it if you’d like. ”
𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 , 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬. the day had been exhausting–––– so finally getting to 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 and relax with velma was sure to be an absolute treat. as soon as she got home and invited the other to come over , she tore herself out of the constraints of clothing and make–up she’d used to get her 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 she so desired. 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒋𝒐𝒃 , she’d tell herself. all lies , of course. objectifying herself was 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 part of the job description , but it helped her sleep at night to think so. that and the determination to be the 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 journalist no matter what it took. she hopped into the shower after stripping down , knowing she’d have a bit of time before velma arrived.

❛ velma , this is . . . i don’t even 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔 for how much i appreciate this. it’s––– it’s perfect. truly. 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 , i mean that , ❜ plump lips spread into a wide smile before she 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 her tightly.
