Alright, so! Life update:

The restaurant I worked at closed permanently due to covid, and I've been working at a different restaurant for the last few months. I got a cat! He's the best! I can share pictures if anyone is interested. I got my first tattoo. :O I can share that, too.

The biggest change in my life, though, is that I finally addressed my alcoholism, and now I have almost five months sober! I've found, though, that the last few months, I've really struggled with creative writing. I guess I still haven't quite re-learned how to do that without alcohol? So yeah, that's why I said low-key and low-commitment. But I would love to give it a shot if anyone is willing!

Maaaan, I’ve been flippflopping for months on whether or not I should move, and at this point, I’m leaning toward it. Yes, it’d be a hassle, and yes I’d lose followers, but I’m soooo sick of my main blog being flagged explicit, and I’ve reached out multiple times and nothing has been done. Plus, it’d give me the chance to revamp. For instance: as much as it pains me, I’m gonna drop Daisy. I haven’t done anything with her in ages, and I’m so behind on AoS with little interest in getting caught up. I have no doubt I’ll watch past S3 someday, but it’s not very high on my watchlist. I would also move Foggy back to my Marvel multimuse. True, he doesn’t fit in very well with the other muses there, but he doesn’t get enough activity to warrant his own account. If I make those changes, I’ll have whittled my RP accounts down to three, which I think is PLENTY.

This would be the first time I’ve RP’d on here since the NSFW ban went into effect. :O Tbh, that really did kind of zap my will to be on this site (if that wasn’t obvious), but the last few days, I’ve started really missing RP, so fuck it. I wanna play, even with the shitty update. XD

I‘m sure you all know, but this is a sideblog.  The main blog that it’s attached to has been flagged as explicit.  Here are some things that happen if your blog is flagged explicit:

You aren’t allowed to change your icon or header to anything but tumblr’s defaults.

You aren’t allowed to change your settings to unflag your blog.  You have to actually request a review (which I did).

I just…am so far beyond disgusted right now.  My original plan was to stick around on tumblr no matter what after I came back from the log out protest, but now I’m thinking I’ll take a break at the very least, at least until this bullshit is sorted out.  I’ve already deleted the app from my phone (again, probably only temporarily). 

My discord is saintnoname#4816 if anyone wants to chat in the meantime (I’ll be upfront that IM isn’t my favorite format for RP, but I’ll do it on occasion, and I”m always up for just chatting OOC).  My email is [email protected] (if you’re looking for private RP, I’d rather do it through email than IM).  And as I keep pointing out, Bucky does have a dreamwidth.  Which will probably get active again.  Lol.  Might make dw accounts for some of my other characters, too.

I know a lot of people are talking about alternatives, whether it’s because they actually intend to leave tumblr or they just want to have a backup plan just in case.

My Bucky has a dreamwidth account (linked here), but none of my other characters do. I’m pretty sure none of you have dreamwidth anyway, but if any of you want to play on there, let me know. I don’t have a discord, but since judging by my dash that seems to be the preferred alternative/backup plan, I’m thinking I’ll get one. I’ll post about it when it happens.

Trapped in a box (closed)

Stepping into his old house–into his father’s house–felt uncomfortable.  Aside from the memories it brought up, there was something voyeuristic about it.  Seeing firsthand the way his father had lived really drove home how far the man had slipped in his later days.  

The power was out when he returned to the house that night.  He managed to find a flashlight, and went into the basement to look for the fuse box.  When he got the lights on, he turned…and saw a cage.

The cage was not unoccupied.  Inside it was a man wearing his face.  He stumbled backward in horror.

Jack shifted a little in the cage, glancing at the opening and then up at Henry. Swallowing thickly he shifted his feet in the dirt and moved to make a motion to stand. “Its been too long…dont remember. What time of year is it?” He asked, standing up though he was hunched over a little. Being 6'4" wasnt exactly comfortable in a cage that was built for an animal. As he stood the dirt and blood on his shirt was more apparent, as were the bandages around his middle under the shirt. Jack paused and looked over to the table, moving over and grabbing his dogtags. “I think I can.” He replied to the other.

“Autumn.”  He smiled a bit as he remembered the fall festival he’d walked through when he first got back in town, but the smile was probably ill-timed and ill-taken.  Henry hated this town.  He’d spent so much of his life trying to get away from it.  But now, coming back to it–seeing these people so carefree and having fun–it somehow felt like coming home.  

“Careful,” he warned.  “Do you know how long you’ve been here?”  He offered his arm to Jack, certain the man was malnourished and uncertain if he would really be able to make it up the stairs on his own.

“Been a month at least. The leaves hadn’t turned yet…” he replied, swallowing thickly and putting his tags around his neck as Henry offered his arm. Jack wasnt much one for help so he didnt take it right away. His body was hunched over a little but he managed to stand upright, shuffling his feet slightly though he couldnt walk right and ended up grabbing Henry’s arm for balance. “My team…they’ll be looking for me…”

“Your team?”  Henry noted when his look-alike took his arm.  He couldn’t help it.  It was part of his job.  “Do you know when you ate last?”  His primary concern was this man’s physical health.  That was what he knew about, what he could help the man with.  Everything else came second.

“Are you in a good mood too? I’m pretty sure you should be since I seem to make your job a lot easier!” Elliot giggled, wondering how much Stanley understood of his magic. “You realise I could just take all the money from a bank from you, right? And save us both a lot of time.”

“You do!  And I am!”  His own enthusiasm matched Elliot’s and was only partially feigned.  The kid’s enthusiasm admittedly got to him sometimes.  “That’d be too high profile,” he pointed out.  “It’d be easy to trace it back to me, and even if it didn’t make it back to me, I’d probably lose you.”

Oh, boy.  So initially, my plan was to do replies tonight (especially since we got out so early), but apparently two days in a row of sobriety has lowered my alcohol tolerance quite a bit, because I’m drunk off half a cup of wine.  So what I’m trying to say is, I might not get to replies, after all.

I’m back to working five nights a week at the restaurant

I also just started my new quarter at school and have at least one class three days a week

On what would be my one real, full day off a week (as in, no school OR work), Sunday, I am working as a haunt actor at a haunted house
