27th February @ Old Queen's Head - Feldspar Single Launch

Some news! We have an upcoming gig (27th February, stick it in your diaries) that we're rather excited about. Poster below:

It's the launch night of Feldspar's new single and promises to be quite the party. It'd be wonderful to see you there!

There are four bands playing and we'll be on just before the main act. We'd better get practising.

You can pre-order £4 tickets from wegottickets or it's £6 on the door.

HP 2013 Update

Hi all. It's certainly been a while since we updated, let's gloss over that swiftly...

We have an Xmas gig as a 3-piece coming up! Check out the poster below and visit this Facebook event page for more details. We'd love to see you there! We've played the same night once before and had a marvellous time.

We played another gig as a 3-piece with our new member, other-James, earlier in the year. This hasn't been much of a gigging year for us as we've spent most of the time practising various permutations of a 5-strong lineup which isn't quite ready yet. Stay tuned.

Our previous gig (which we've totally failed to blog about?!) was at The Sebright Arms. We had fun. Here's the poster and a picture:

We have two gigs this week as well! We're joining forces with musical pals Victoria & Jacob to put on a combined Xmas-Party-EP-Launch at The Hideaway in Archway on Tuesday 18th December. Then on the following Thursday (20th) we have an acoustic gig at The Stag in Hampstead. Check these out:

Summer

Hello there! You're reading a quick Summer update from Hoshal Patrick.

We've been taking a breather which will soon come to an end as we begin to prepare for upcoming August gigs as well as finish recording and mixing our EP which we're currently hoping to have finished by October.

We're working on a new set for our shows and new songs for our release and are very much looking forward to sharing it all with existing fans and unsuspecting netizens & members of the public alike.

In the meantime, let us draw your attention to a quick write-up we received which saw our demo Birdy Bourrée referred to as 'timeless' and placed amongst a couple of other gems. We're itching to get the EP version of the track ready - it'll be a bit different and better, we hope.

Hydro-Acoustics released

Some quick news from us. Firstly thanks to everyone who came to see us play at The Silver Bullet - we had fun meandering through our set in front of an intimate crowd (read: a handful of our friends) who even accompanied our last song with a synchronised dance routine. Thanks to Tasha of 'Group Therapy' & The Silver Bullet for having us!

Next:

We're excited to announce that Hydro-Acoustics is released today. It is a nautical-themed compilation album that we're chuffed to be a part of and you can now buy it now at Bandcamp. It's best for everyone involved if you purchase it there, but we're still excited to see ourselves on Amazon, Spotify etc. Have a listen to our track below and head on over to Bandcamp to listen to the rest and find out more about the release.

Verily we do have news

Greetings! How does Monday morning find you? It greets us with a crisp London breeze and discovers us in the midst of a flurry of activity. A number of things we'd love to tell you about:

First up - our gig at the weekend. It was great! We had a good time and are very thankful to Librarians Wanted for having us. The crowd was quite large considering we were first on. The other bands (Alto45 & Just Handshakes (We're British)) were awesome. Here's a photo courtesy of Johnny Raper, surely amongst the best snaps we have of ourselves performing to date. Thanks Johnny and of course Rupert, Silja & David of Librarians Wanted!

OK, next up: we have another gig this Thursday! It's in Finsbury Park. Here's the flyer with everything you need to know:

This will likely be our last performance for a couple of months in order to give people time to want to come and see us again, give us time to practice new songs for our set and also to work on our first EP. Our EP will feature a handful of our favourite tracks from the past couple of years. We're looking forward to getting them sounding good and finally having something finished to give people but also putting a lid on them & moving swiftly onto newer songs in the pipeline that we're even more excited about. For the timebeing though we're knee-deep in songs that have been bouncing around since 2009. The first track we've completed for our upcoming release (due later in the year) is first being featured on Hydro-Acoustics, a nautical-themed collection being released by The Association for Depth Sound Recordings. We're very pleased and proud to be featured on this awesome collection of tunes which will be available for download & physical purchase on April 23rd & you can pre-order it at hydro-acoustics.bandcamp.com. The track in question is fan-favourite My Lady At Low Tide which we have re-recorded & mixed and had mastered for your listening pleasure. You can listen to it right now via the video we just finished this morning below:

We've been quite busy recently so it seemed a good time to give our blog a bit of a springclean - and maybe even start posting stuff on it...

We played our first gig of the year at The Lamb a couple of weeks ago. We enjoyed ourselves and gather the crowd did too. Here's a video from the night:

Thanks for having us & doing your best to make us sound good, Martin & Richard. Hoshal Patrick can highly recommend The Lamb as a pleasing boozer & a welcome new addition to Holloway Road.

We had a great time this Saturday playing at the latest Schnapps House event, held at The Constitution and hosted by The Standards. We were sharing the bill with Adam Beattie (he has a band called 'The Consultants' but played a solo set on this occasion) and a drummer-less set from The A Train and both were very good indeed. Then we played and had a lot of fun. We were followed by a super headline set from the hosts. Another lovely venue we can highly recommend (a nice Camden-based off-the-beaten-track affair) & a great crowd, thanks to everyone who came to watch us. Here's a photo taken by our friend Jacob:
