"It's salty." He speaks plainly, as usual. Though an apparent crease smudges between the brows. Couple that with the slightest downtick of lips, and it's almost as if he's disappointed.

Embarrassed, even.

Still, he presents a modest box stacked with a variety of onigiri. Two shio sake, umeboshi, and hijiki gohan. Hiromi never claimed to be a whiz when it comes to cooking, and this is evidence enough. But he actually followed through instead of trashing it ( despite how badly he wanted to ).

"We can get lunch somewhere else too. I'll buy."

as the box is presented, he finds himself fond at the whole situation. the fact that he'd gone through the trouble of making him onigiri to begin with had him smiling. just because it was salty didn't mean he was going to waste such an effort.

gingerly, he takes the box from hiromi's hands. he reaches into the box and hoists one of the onigiri from within before lifting it to his mouth. he takes a bite and chews. it was quite salty even for shio sake. as he finishes the bite, the smile on his face only seems to brighten.
