THANK YOU @barack-fa FOR DRAWING MY BABIES THEYRE SO CUTE IM GOING TO CRY
do you have any current voice claims for your tdaut characters? 💕
yeah! a lot of them in fact! i was actually working on a video to show a bunch of em off, and i was gonna make a bunch of sprites and even short animatics for them, and then i stopped working on it. so this is what i have
You know, isn't it weird how Temi is an adult but everything about her makes her seem like a child? Her epitaph calls her a child; innocence is commonly associated with children, her design is inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, and usually Red Riding Hood isn't depicted as an adult. One of her fleeces is literally called "Fleece of the YOUTH". It almost feels like it was a last-minute change for something
my take (that i do not expect to have been the actual thought process from the developers and if they give us more information ill change my headcanon lore) is that in the universe of cotl, sheep as a species are infantilised as a form of their oppression, since abrahamic religions call for specifically a sacrificial lamb
even before the bishops called for their complete extermination, sheep were the favoured victims for sacrifice; how that came to be no one truly remembers, but does that really matter anymore? sheep are typically referred to as "lambs", from the belief that they will die young, either from sacrifice or from other factors (famine, disease, etc that affect them disproportionately due to them being stuck on the lower rungs of the social ladder). they are also referred to as children derogatorily, as is the case with several types of real life oppression
the lamb is known as The Lamb for several reasons:
literal: they are the last sheep alive (until reviving yngya of course) so they truly are The Lamb
to demean them: they are treated as nothing but a child and not worthy of respect. they are just A Lamb
irony: they cannot die young because, as the new god of death, they will never die
but back to temi, her being associated with youth is a little different than the titular Lamb. while she did die young (though she is clearly not a child, since she is the same size as the other adult sheep rather than keru and aza) it represents her wide eyed idealism, her fascination and fixation on death and gore with an Innocence (her title) that can only be described as "childlike". she leans into the infantilisation of her species, but not the way typically expected. she is not weak and frail, she is incredibly strong. maybe not physically but mentally. they cannot break her. if they managed to find her, she would not have given them the satisfaction of her tears
also, according to the wiki (i am unsure if this has been confirmed or just a theory) she was named after the angel Temeluchus, who looks after children who died of infanticide. maybe she babysits keru and aza? this would make sense to me, since the Fleece of Youth (which is not her fleece. her fleece is "fleece of the innocent" and looks like what she wears) is covered in stars
just like keru and aza
i dont know if its been said whether well get more on the woolhaven sheep but i expect temi has some sort of ties to the twins specifically. for her little red riding hood motif... maybe she lead a (metaphorical OR literal) wolf in sheeps clothing to woolhaven and ensured their doom. whether it was accidental or because the little freak wanted to see what would happen, i dont know
but thats my thoughts at the moment
Wow... I was not expecting a response like this. This is actually a very interesting take, not only on the question I asked but just on the sheep in general.
Another way I could see why the lamb is called 'The Lamb' is that since being a vessel and then later a god, they can never grow old, and we don't actually know what their age was when they died (I mean, they are obviously an adult, but they can easily be a very young one); they are forever young, forever a lamb.
Also, do you mean that Temi is reclaiming it in a way?
i could see it being temi reclaiming it, but considering some of the other titles (specifically Rami the Charred and Zawa the Pretender) i think these are titles that were assigned to them externally and had no choice in the matter rather than something they decided on themselves (otherwise i dont see why rami would define themself solely with their disfigurement and not their skills, and i DEFINITELY dont see why zawa would reveal themself as faking their species). MAYBE by aniel since she is the historian who documented them all in the lamb tablets? but i think if that were the case, she would have assigned herself a meaner title. and i think yngya assigning these titles is also a possibility but i dont think she would be mean enough to rami and zawa (unless she absolutely hates them for some reason. her least favourites)
i think all of their titles were decided by their oppressors who needed some way to identify them while communicating with each other ("which way did the pretender go?" "i think that way, with the scholar") but had no way - or will - to learn their actual names
What is your usual reaction upon looking through your ask box?

Have you noticed on how some seem to viscerally hate the woolhaven lambs and criticize people for woobyfying them but turn around and do the exact same thing to the bishops and/or marchosias? I've seen some people say shit like Ynyga is white and the lambs are racist warmongers and Marchosias was in the right for desecrating the remains of their culture because their culture is evil, but Marchosias himself is just flawed guys! He's just trying to save his pack from cult leaders!11!! wdym he perform dangerous experimentations on his pack? your'e just interpretating it wrong bro1!1. What is this fandom bro😭
genocide apologism extends to fictional characters that look like this
shes literally 5 apples tall...
i havent really been following regarding tadc and gooseworxk, is there any good source that i could read about whats going on? because the few snippets i know are leaving me confused about whats even going on.
its like... a lot that has built up over a few months so it might be hard to find One Concrete Source but you should be able to piece it together if you look hard enough. but the basic gist can be summed up with how she finds fandom drama to be more important than the safety of her black fans and also these two images
Not sure i trust the idea that you realised the show was never actually that good after finding out the people behind it are shitty. Bad people are capable of making good art and it feels immature to pretend otherwise.
i agree, bad people ARE capable of making good art! for example, there are several musicians i still listen to occasionally bc i still like their music, but i would NEVER monetarily support them in any way because they are bad people, nor do i advertise how i still enjoy them because i dont want it to seem like i support their actions. HOWEVER: the concept of rose tinted glasses is VERY real
in a personal relationship, you can ignore all of someones faults because of how much you like them, and it is only when theyre out of your life do you look back and realise they werent all that great to begin with. its the same principle, even if you dont know the creator personally
maybe you finally notice how corny the dialogue was when youre not fixated on how pretty the visuals are, or that something you thought was an intentional deconstruction in progress was actually just conforming to the creators internal biases, or MAYBE you were just caught up in the thrill of a Community (fandom) where you were having fun seeing everyone else having fun so you werent being as critical as you usually are
while the quality of the work is irrelevant when it comes to whether or not you should support someone despite their actions (im not your parent and cant make decisions for you) lets not act like your opinion on a piece of art cant be soured by the circumstances. how many songs can you not listen to anymore bc you associate them with a bad time in your life? getting fired? a breakup perhaps? imagine that but bc your old boss/partner was a racist piece of shit. congratulations we are now in the same boat
How are they racists?????
I dont think nothing burger mildly egdy jokes makes someone a racist. Escpecailly the when theyve since then apologised and shown since that they do take racism seriously through other statements.
youre right! i would not, personally, say that making an "edgy joke" would forever make someone Racist with a capital R, as long as they apologise and take it seriously in the present day, and dont play the victim OR demand forgiveness which they are not owed. gooseworx has not done any of that
to this day she specifies "genuine racist hateful things" because she is okay with "ironic" racist hateful things
this is a white person who thinks racist jokes are funny because she doesnt take racism seriously. she finds it "absurd" and "stupid" because she doesnt have enough compassion to find it "horrifying". calling it a "nothing burger" just shows that you dont care about racial minorities (specifically black peoples) feelings and i can guarantee that if the roles were reversed and it was a black person saying weird shit about queer people youd want her head on a spike
Damn, Gooseworx hates black people,
Toby Fox hates mexicans,
Scott Cawthon is republican,
Vivziepop hates women, trans people and black people,
Andrew hussie is Andrew Hussie.
Are there any indie creators who are good people?
okay 1: "toby fox hates latin america" is a huge exaggeration considering he just preferred to personally oversee any translations of his games and he only speaks english+japanese (he didnt even forbid fan translations! he gave his blessing in fact! there just wont be an official one for the time being!) he also didnt translate it into french or arabic despite those each being the official languages of dozens of countries and no one gives a shit about those for some reason
2: theres a lot of good indie creators out there, you just have to actually look instead of letting everything get spoonfed to you via the trending tab. especially if youre including games and comics which may be the two most accessible mediums for an indie creator to dip their toes into. look through itch.io or tapas or even webtoon to see if anything strikes your fancy, become a fan of the work first and if you want to you can look into the creators other projects
but keep in mind that every creator is a person and not some perfect sinless angel just because you like their work and you dont personally know any of these people. they are not your friends so you dont have to defend them like they are. if you like their work and later find out theyre a bad person, it does not reflect poorly on you since you did not have all the information but it WILL reflect poorly on you if you go to bat for them to save your own ego
Whats with the turn on tadc?
i realised its made by racists and nothing is good enough to excuse racism. then when my rose tinted glasses were off i realised it wasnt even that good in the first place. i was just giving it too much grace bc the animation and character designs were really good and the occasional hype moments and aura. but yknow what ALSO has hype moments and aura? indie projects made by black people
The only reason I havent watched much of the leaks is cuz I already bought tickets to see it ☹️ really scared regarding the current public perception though
Well. The animation is good at least! :D
if i had a misogynistic sex pest character i would simply not tie his misogyny into a hypothetical queer identity as if the two go hand in hand
thoughts on tadc???
i love it. wish there was more torture. cant wait for the abstragedy sex scene next episode. i think jax is a bad person but people who act like hes the most evil abusive character theyve ever seen probably havent seen that many characters
watched the leaks. i take it back the jax haters were right all along
Blue or orange?
blue, orange used to be my favourite colour but my secondary school tie was orange so i dont like it that much anymore
