Urgent Help Needed-Tree Fell On My House
Hi I’m Parker I’m a mixed black disabled gay person and last week a tree fell on my house.
The only room that was majorly damaged was my room but there’s five holes in the roof and due to issues with covering them there’s now water damage inside of the roof as well. My uncle, who is also our landlord, let our house insurance lapse without informing us so we’ve been in short terms absolutely fucked. We’re persuing legal measures against him but that’s going to take some time. Our power has had to be shut off for safety reasons which has caused us to lose the majority of our groceries and my supply of medicine which totals hundreds of dollars. My pets need food while we’re finding foster families for them because the shelter hasn’t been able to help us. The red cross helped my family get a hotel for a week but after tomorrow we won’t have a place to stay at all unless we somehow come up with more money to keep pouring into it or find somewhere to stay. I stayed with a friend of mine for as long as possible but that is no longer an option.
I’m diagnosed with behcets disease, and stressful situations aggrevate my flares and often cause them to begin with. Due to this without a place to stay and without medicine I could end up in the hospital which I cannot afford.
After monday we should have an exact estimate on how much money it’ll take to redo the roof. We’re still currently in the process of removing the tree from the roof.
We need immediate donations towards housing. After tomorrow we’ll also need donations towards fixing our house, I’ll update this post with the ammount then. All donations will be going towards what’s been stated above however. Food, shelter, pet supplies, home repair, and once the home is repaired I’m going to be in need of a new mattress and boxsprings so anything left will be going towards that.
