This is so accurate, first time I heard it I didn't even get to appreciate it really because I was on a busy train but then I hear it later and I CRIED. Like How is anything to beautiful. The two of them just fit so well, AND THE HARMONIES. Also, Siempre viva reprise, was down on the floor. Those three way harmonies like they're sirens? Brother if I they were I'd have drowned. Like imagine three hot women sing at you to stay with them for eternity in a three part harmony, that potion would have been empty in milliseconds. Anyway that's my very casual opinion on that.

I feel like I haven't seen enough people talk about that scene in smash where Karen Cartwright is for some reason kind of imagining a bollywood music video (that scene still confuses me so bad) and in it we see Derek feeding Ivy grapes like she's Cleopatra and he's her servant. Like idk about y'all but something about that, like the way Ivy was just lying there was so hot, am I weird or did anyone else think that??

Hi and welcome back to potion philosophy! ^^

(Where I ask my burning questions about dbh or the potion specifically, because I'm obsessed and can't stop philosophizing, for any one who's new)

This question I've literally had for soo long, ever since I got into death becomes her and also had philosophy as a subject and was lowkey why I started this in the first place.

So: picture it, for some unexplicable reasons a random child drinks the potion. We know it's a youth potion, but I think it also has the effect of making a person more/the most attractive. Which, if we're considering a child as the drinker, would be pretty weird.

Question‼️: Would the potion make the child stay in their form forever, because it's still young, even though I think that would kind of imply that that is also their prettiest if not even most attractive look, (which, like I said before is just weird..)

OR: Does the child age up to their most attractive soon to be version, which is still weird as fuck? Others age down, but for a child there isn't a whole lot to age down to, unless it just disappears.

What do you think happens in that scenario??

something I just made up because I had two questions about the dbh potion I felt like the internet should question itself about, but maybe I'll have more questions later, whether about the general universe or just the potion

So, number one is, does the drinker of the potion actually only get ten years of their fame, or until they're sixty?

If we go by the movie logic, where Madeline tells the two fans that Helen is fifty, we can assume that Madeline is the same age(or atleast that's what I've been doing) when she takes the potion. In the musical(I can't remember if it was in the movie too rn) she's then told that she has ten more years of glory. But is that because by then she'll be sixty, and that's where confusion will rise? Or does everyone get ten years? When you take the potion with twenty for some reason, do you only have until you're thirty? Or what if you don't show yourself for (e.g.) seven of those years, do you still only have three?

My theory is that death becomes her is closing because the girl's ten years of potion popularity are up so they must disappear from view as to not arouse suspicion. No but in all seriousness, I'm not ready, I haven't even seen it live once!! Idk how to cope with this </3

Y'all if Helen has a hotel in LA that means she didn't move there, right? So, when she says "I have chloroform and shovels in my trunk" she's referring to her car, right? But like.. is it a rented car? Is it actually hers and she somehow had enough money to have it shipped to her and she took a flight? Did she drive all the way from New York to LA and wasted 7 days or more just on driving there? Did she go by ferry? These are important questions if you ask me

It's also crazy to me that through Helen's three frame medical report I found out her birthday on her birthday(aka, today) and it's litterally mine except that the day and month are switched and I wasn't born in the fifties, so I guess happy birthday Helen Sharp

So uh, today I just found out that some person in the dbh fandom didn't just come up with random names for Helen's parents and everyone just went with it in fanfics, but that it was actually visible in like three frames in movie Helen's medical record?

What do you mean their canon names are actually Roger and Virginia?? This fandom is honestly crazy for spotting that in those three frames it's shown in(though I guess I'm apart of those people as I literally went "hey, I'm kinda curious what's written in there, let's pause")
