I feel so fucking upset reading comments from YouTube on Banana Fish fanvid. Some people said Ash is not dead, said that they kill Ash in anime because Ash is gay and in relationship with Eiji and bla, bla, bla, shit.
WELL, LISTEN NOW. Ash is dead. The author has never meant to keep him alive from the fucking start. Accept that fact and move on or nah. But keep in mind that at least, Ash is now free and at peace.
Do not spread lies such as they kill Ash because Ash and Eiji are gay and in relationship because that is wrong, so fucking wrong. First of all, Ash is not even gay. He can be bi or asexual or straight or whatever, but he is not gay, that's what the author said that Ash was not gay.
Second, Banana Fish is not even about gay relationship, duh. No offence but Banana Fish is not about gay relationship, please let that sink in. Ash and Eiji love each other, yes, but they are not in a relationship like that and once again, Banana Fish is not about gay relationship. Why does it always have to be gay when there are two men who love each other, who protect each other, who long for each other? Why? Why can't they just have a friendship? Or okay, relationship. A very close and have a strong bond at that. How about soulmate? Because I don't think gay relationship can describe perfectly Ash and Eiji relationship especially the non-existent sexual things part, no offence. What they both have is far more than that and we all know that for sure. Just because they are two men who love each other, doesn't always mean it has to be gay. Love doesn't equal sex and we all know sex is probably the last thing Ash wants to do with Eiji, so gay relationship is totally out of the way.
It has been a year and some months since the first time I watch Banana Fish and read the manga and I know moving on is impossible. Banana Fish, Ash, they will always in my heart. And I will always cry for Ash, for them, I know. The pain will always be there and as days going, I know it will grow and never stop. But I don't regret it, never.
It's okay that we can't fucking move on, it's okay that we cry whenever we see Ash's name popped up randomly on internet, it's okay. We are all happy, as happy as Eiji because we know that somewhere Ash is free and finally at peace.
