This is Michael, and he’s a Tsukumogami, He is the only yokai that can control light. Michael was born from the lantern. The lantern itself was made by Hephaestus god of the forge, it was meant to be a gift for Jupiter King of the gods. Jupiter filled it with his undying light, but Nyx, the goddess of night, was offended, Jupiter already had the day and the stars which already interfered with Nyx’s darkness, and Jupiter wanted to add more of his light? She wasn’t having it, so she stole the lantern and filled it with her darkness, but all that did was fracture the light and gave birth to a Tsukumogami. Nyx threw the Lantern somewhere in Bandle city, which is why Michael looks like a yordle. The light in the lantern now shines beautifully of every color of the spectrum. Now since that light came from Jupiter Michael has enough power to be a minor deity, the darkness from Nyx doesn’t hurt ether. Michael made his way to the shadow Isles and hopes to restore it to it’s former glory using the light given to him by Jupiter.
