Can you explain like I'm 5 the brood parasite symbolism in your Coryo Snow art, please? I feel dumb... Thanks love your blog!

Major TBOSAS spoilers below:

So at the end of ballad, Snow is made the Plinth's heir after Sejanus dies. The Plinth's wealth is a major contributor to how Snow is able to rise back up the ranks. The Plinth's have no idea that Snow is the reason their son is dead, though, and that really reminded me of how some birds, most famously cuckoos, will place their eggs in a different bird's nest among the bird's own eggs, and the birds will take on the role of raising the imposter chick. Pretty often, cuckoo chicks will push out the original eggs/baby birds so that they are the only ones being taken care of by their surrogate parents. Said surrogate parents don't even recognise the new bird as a threat or a drain on their resources; they just think it's their own chick.

So while the Plinth's don't raise Snow, Snow essentially pushes Sjeanus out of the nest and reaps all the benefits of being the Plinth's new son, and the Plinth's aren't even aware of the betrayal that landed him there.
