A Downton Abbey haul arrived for me today! Yes, I splurged on the on the Blu-Ray set, and yes, this means I have three copies of the TV show, and two of each movie now, but the others are DVDs lol.

The Downton Abbey Ultimate Legacy Collection is a very cool way to package things. It is definitely a limited edition, I even got a card with the number of the pressing lol. The pages of the book are super glossy.

The Crawley family tree lists "Baby Branson" but no new info there. Maybe the upcoming movie companion guide can shed some more light (I assume there must be major spoilers in the book, hence its continued delay. It's supposedly finally out next week).

After the character bios (I've included the A/B pages above), then there's some more stuff on the costumes of TGF, with a smattering of ANE thrown in.

Then it goes into the TV show. From what it looks likes to me, it seems to have all the bonus features of the UK DVDs for S1-2 (PBS did not have the commentary nor the deleted scenes - it's possible Universal released these when they took over the US home video rights for their releases after the first two films, but I don't own those). Then rest of the bonus features are more or less the same as Complete Collector's Set that came out in 2016, including the supercuts, and the character documentaries. I don't think there's anything new that isn't on some existing set somewhere in that regard lol.

What is interesting to me, is that the synopses for the most part are the same as the original ones we got from ITV as the show was airing (I can confirm a lot of the S4-5 ones easily, as I remember very vividly how certain plots were described). However S6's reminds me more of the Celebration book's summaries, which were vague for fear of spoilers.

Anyway, I think it's a rather cool addition to my collection.

While we wait for the official companion guide to TGF to come out, here's the A/B bits from the People magazine Special Edition. Mild trigger warning as Anna's S4 plot it mentioned twice although not in detail. Also a few of the captions are a little misleading imho. But overall I thought it was nice compared to some of the other magazine's special edition issues.
