How to Write Fun Sex (and no, not kinky fun, just fun)
Conversation! Sex is not nearly was quiet as some people write it! In fact, not saying anything for that long can feel awkward at times. Lighten the mood with jokes, banter, or even something silly someone notices.
Sex is awkward, and messy, and you characters can laugh in the middle! Lots of people say random things during sex that are really funny (most people’s brain to mouth filters aren’t really working)
Let your characters be bad at sex. It’s okay! It’s a lot of coordination, movement, and placement that doesn’t come naturally to everyone! Especially if they are nervous. Slipping and almost falling over is common, hand cramps are common, and so is just straight up missing what you’re aiming for. It’s human and endearing!
If you want your characters to be good at sex, you can still make the mood light hearted. Jokes, fun comments, and a tone of ease make the atmosphere feel comfortable and sometimes even more intimate.
