Good Day Everyone!

My previous blog (hp-vents) was stolen and deleted, unfortunately, so I made a new one. I'm not sure who did it, but please don't do it again. This is simply a safe space for people to vent.

As I said last time, I allow everything. I believe everyone should have a safe space to express their thoughts without being targeted, so you are welcome to do that here!

However, please don't be overly aggressive, don't name-drop people, and do not send me misogynistic, racist, ableist, transphobic, homophobic or any other hateful slurs (even towards characters), threats, or any type of violent/hate speech. If you give me threats of suicide in the asks, I will block your anon. (This happened, yes) Thank you for understanding.

Seriously, the top speed of a quidditch broom is less of a factor than what you think if you take JKR's measurements of the pitch as canon, the quidditch pitch is too small for the players to reach or make use of the top speed in a meaningful manner. Acceleration and maneuravility are more important

Wizards and witches are selfish af bro so many genocides and wars happening and they don't lift a finger. I'm actually curious how their communities developed with muggles constantly changing nature and country borders. It's weird they didn’t make muggles stop some shit when it's forcing wizards to adjust to muggle politics and geography. If I was a witch I'd be annoyed as hell. Like imagine all the bombings and murders around or government changes. I'm curious how witches in America, Asia and Africa are like. Or what were European witches doing during nazi Germany? Or when muggles in their country experienced famine, wars, etc.? What about usa wizards during slavery? If muggleborn witches existed then too and were born into slavery did the other witches prevent them from saving their muggle family from slavery and assimilating to usa wizarding culture? Did anyone do a fanfic on this?

Anon, without any antagonism intended, this assumption right here is part of the problem. If you (generalized you) are relying on your audience already being familiar with the canon you're adapting in order to glaze over any issues with your adaptation, you are writing a fanfic instead. I like fanfic. I am in fact an ardent AU enjoyer. Pretending a fanfic is an actual adaptation is silly, because an adaptation has to operate under the assumption that it is the viewer/reader's first encounter with the story. Choices that would work fine in a fanfic therefore do not work fine in an adaptation.

Well, It’s a good thing no one said you had to be familiar with the canon source to understand it, just that many of those who are going to see it already have that extra context in mind because they’ve read it, so this weird assumption they keep imagining and bringing up makes no sense for them (literally no one else is saying this but the fans who have already engaged with the original source, at least from what i’ve seen, so it’s extremely bizarre).

In fact, the first introduction of Snape to Harry is Harry being curious about who he is and than having some weird magically headache he assumes is from him because he was looking at him, and than it’s Snape directly picking on him and embarrassing him in front of everyone, so this whole “it’s going to make Harry look so bad and racist” makes absolutely no sense. Snape looks terrible either way regardless if you read the book or not.

I like fanon more. In canon Sirius and James are the closest and Remus is more in the backround and I wish it was all James, Sirius and Remus having a powerful bond with each other and for Sirius and James to not always prioritize each other.

Love jk rowling for being so talented and great and writing such an amazing story. I still remember as a kid when I found out she's releasing goblet of fire and I was obsessed with the series by that point. Idk there was smth so magical about that time and I thank Jkr for that.

I find weird that people paint Sirius as hating Lily when in canon it's very explicit that Sirius was the closest non-James marauder to Lily

Literally the only competent death eaters were Barty and Peter. The rest were a bunch of failures. Those two were putting in the work and actually almost succeeding, while the others were either failing miserably or not even really loyal to Voldemort in the end.

If jegulus shippers want a (canon) kid so bad they should just take Delphini or even Teddy instead of Luna, Harry, or any of the other established kids. Those two are practically oc's, go crazy with their characterization.
