the unknown /past
it had been long years since hanjae and his twin brother had lived under the same roof. sure, they had spend a few nights together when their parents had made it work, but it was different than the first years when they’d been a true family. hanjae ached for those times, though he’d almost never admit it to anyone if he could help it. he wasn’t foolish enough to believe that nothing had changed between them, or that he and wonho were the same people. he had seen him grow and change, and they slowly knew less and less about each other.
but when wonho had decided to go to the same college as hanjae, he'd immediately jumped in to offer that they could be roommates. hanjae wasn’t the most sociable guy, so it wasn’t as though he had a lot of people he was open to sharing the space his mom and stepfather were generous enough to fund. he sought out his twin with a faint hint of a smile on his lips.
“hey, wonho. how’s it going? it’s been...jeez, how long has it even been since we lived in the same house?” he asked. he had been aiming for lighthearted conversation, but realized immediately it seemed worse, flippant. “i mean...you know. a lot’s happened...do you think it’ll be weird living together?” he mentally questioned why he kept making this worse and worse.
