Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist season/series(?) finale theory

Okay - My family and I were theorizing tonight.

So on the Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist cast episode on Stars in the House, Skylar Astin (Max) said there would be a 7ish minute song in the season finale, which airs in two weeks (May 3rd.)

We started thinking about what song it could be, and I think we got it.

American Pie.

Most likely sung by Zoey’s dad.

Think about it.

The day the music died.

It would be SO symbolic of everything going on in the show. We all know wether we can accept it or not that Zoey’s father is most likely going to pass at the end of the season, heavily hinted at tonight’s episode(10).

So imagine this:

The dad looking back on his life. His wife (widowed bride *wink wink*), children, everything. Maybe even some different perspectives of different storylines depending on how many people are singing the song, either way an amazing way to close out the season. As he and/or other characters look back on things (and in the case of other characters, maybe do some things), the song plays out.

And then, (I hope this is how they close out the episode,) where in the song there’s a group of people singing, the dad is surrounded my his wife, children, Howwie his caretaker, and hopefully Max there too (I love their relationship), they all sing:

Bye bye, Miss American Pie. Drove my Chevy to the levy, but the levy was dry. And them good ol’ boys were drinking whiskey and rye Singin’ this’ll be the day that I die.

What a beautiful way to say goodbye to a beloved character, and a beautiful way to close out a season, and if it doesn’t get picked up for another, a series.

A/N: Here it is again, the fic with the worst title ever, which also happens to be the first fic I wrote. I never posted it on tumblr, but in one month I’m going to start posting The Sequel™, so I thought I might throw this around to sort of…pump y’all up. I’m extremely excited about the sequel, it’s literally the story I created Ian for, and I cannot wait for it to begin (the only thing holding me back right now are the two AUIGH chapters I want to write first).

Chapter One

Emma had felt fatigued for weeks. She wasn’t normally a nap person, but lately she found herself dozing whenever she had the opportunity. She attributed her exhaustion to recent events: being the Dark One, turning her boyfriend into a Dark One, having to kill said boyfriend and then rescue him from the Underworld, being in a near-constant state of mortal peril, etc.

When she started feeling nauseous and throw-uppy, she thought it was just the flu. December was the beginning of flu season, after all, and even Storybrooke, for all its magic, was not immune. She drank a few extra glasses of orange juice, indulged in a handful of those naps her body so craved, and it seemed to pass.

She was just beginning to feel as if everything was back to normal.

Until this afternoon, that is.

It had been a slow day at work (a slow week, actually) so she decided to order Granny’s as a reward for catching up on paperwork she’d been neglecting since, well, almost since she became Sheriff.

Her stomach was rumbling hungrily by the time her lunch arrived. However, as she unwrapped her sandwich and got that first whiff of toasted bread and hot cheese, a smell which would normally set her mouth watering, her insides began heaving furiously.

She sprinted to the bathroom, knocking over a chair and accidentally kicking a small waste basket across the room in the process.

After she finished emptying her stomach of everything she’d eaten that morning (and maybe the last year, too, because when was the last time she ate anything that shade of purple?), her head cleared, and the realization hit her.

She was pregnant.

Probably.

Definitely.
